Lol Galax has been so one dimensional all year they would probably have to call a time out and reassess if they saw less than 9 in the box.
Fair point. I havent seen Galax this year. Running double tights? I was thinking under Dixon, while the still seemed to run almost every play they used to use WRs to spread out the defense somewhat.
Also though if Galax sends pressure if Honaker recognizes it presnap they can find the matchup that best suites them ahead of time. Whether it be through the air or on the ground. Lowe is such an ace in the hole on both sides of the ball. Narrows put up points being dynamic on offense. If Galax is one dimensional its going to be much harder to gain ground with 9 in the box.
Holston winning two games in the final minute, including the RR game mentioned earlier.
Holston 13 John Battle 12 OT
Per BHC Sep 12, 2023: "Senior Merrick Buchanan, who hadn’t been given the job as kicker for the Cavaliers until Thursday, converted the walk-off extra-point boot in the first OT session after Noah Tweed’s 4-yard touchdown run knotted the score."
Holston 29 Rural Retreat 28
Per BHC Tim Hayes Oct 28, 2023: "Quarterback Noah Tweed’s two-point conversion pass to Luke Greene with 39.6 seconds remaining turned out to be Holston’s ace in the hole as the Cavaliers collected a thrilling and important 29-28 Hogoheegee District win over the Rural Retreat Indians on Friday night."
Another reason I mentioned Battle was Holston beat them on a FG in OT I think.
Holston, Rural Retreat and John Battle probably have the market cornered on this topic. Seems like all were in games decided multiple times by the last play.
Will there be an ATW this week? Missed not having one last week.
footwork needs a little work, but he's young and going to be a monster before it's all said and done. Looking forward to seeing what he does.
Agreed. He’s getting there. RC is blessed with some talent along the front. Being able to slide Jay Bowen from TE to LT was a great opportunity. Jay is solid and has great feet. Dakota Meade and Trevor Darnell are both agile strong guards and Austin has been solid at center. Cooper Bowen has come in when someone has been injured and performed like a starter too.
Probably should be district lineman of the year but probably wouldn’t get that kind of recognition across the district since he is a freshman. I have a lot of confidence he’s going to get better and better the way he works too.
That would be somewhat surprising to me. If they are going to spend money on a recruiting firm I would think they would entertain opportunities from outside the UVA Wise family.
What say you?
