  1. Watched Vic Hall account for 6 TD's against Christiansburg in a 49-42 playoff win....He was nothing short of phenomenal in one of the best high school games I've ever had the privilege to spectate.
  2. Tucker is the name everyone will hear over the PA, but Ashworth is the straw that stirs the drink, IMO
  3. Yessir...Everyone from the first and second units, I believe. Will be very junior heavy as well. Thoroughly enjoyed watching them last year.
  4. Heckuva ball game. Congrats to Galax....Go put some Maroon in the State Championship boys! We left too many opportunities out there today. Some were done in by our own doing...Some Galax slammed the window on us. Really going to miss seeing Tandom Smith suit up for us....Kid has been an absolute joy to watch these last four years. On to basketball....as unfortunate as it is that football season for us has come to an end, I've never been more excited about GW hoops.
  5. I’ve had a chance to see our boys against Radford, Graham, and Union. Most of the year, my thoughts were that Graham had the most talent, Union was the most complete team, and Radford had the best player. Granted, Graham didn’t have Clements, and that could have changed my opinion, but it seems like Radford has really risen to what Clark is The next two weeks are going to be phenomenal in 2A I just hope we are still playing and I miss it 😂
  6. GW 35 Auburn 0 mid 2nd GW has 4 offensive drives, 0 first downs, and 5 TDs
  7. I don’t know how many penalties we had against us tonight, but I’ll be shocked if it’s less than 20
  8. I’d feel a heckuva lot better if Houston was healthy, and I haven’t had a status update on him in a week. Really feel like he was one of two kids we couldn’t afford to lose this year to have a clear shot. I do like us spreading the ball around and getting some kids some live looks in his absence, however. Some have a really stepped up, especially 3, 4, and 12. I dunno if he’ll be back this year, but if he is, we’ll be a tough out in the region.
  9. They’re not, but I don’t think the rest of the region is either. Any one of 7 teams can win it because somebody has to lol
  10. Not gonna go dig it up to verify, but I don't think we have played Auburn since 2019. We MIGHT have gotten a game in with them during the spring season of 2021
  11. "Betting by the transitive property will make you a very broke man." Best gambling advice i ever got, and that was given to me over 20 years ago.
  12. A couple just like em in every operating Hardees before every sun up, I'm afraid 🤣
  13. I'm not picking anything in this one until I see the official spread 🤣
  14. Exactly this. That team was one of the best we ever had over here, to be honest.....Just didn't take care of business in the district unfortunately, and you pretty much had to in 1C, Div 2 then.
  15. Was very impressed with the Union defense when I caught them a couple of weeks ago. Really think they have pieces on offense to catch fire at the right time as well. I'll be rooting for em!
  16. He was awfully good against us last week, and I actually thought we did a fair job against him. He and Kanipe (sp?) are a very, very good duo. Clark is the real deal. To be honest, I was pleased it was only 35-7 when starters were pulled after we had turned it over 5 times and gave up an onside kick.
  17. Longtime GW coach Donnie Pruitt has passed. Pruitt arrived at GW in 1977 where he spent 23 years as an assistant coach for the Maroons. In 2000, he was promoted to Head Coach where he compiled a 79-24 record winning 6 Hogo Championships, 2 Region C Championships, and the 2002 1A D2 State Championship. Coach Pruitt touched a great many lives in Wytheville, and he will surely be missed.
  18. We're in midseason form around here 😆
  19. Wasn't impressed at all last week watching Northside.
  20. We couldn't get the pass rush we did on Clark last year and the kid just had a monster night. He looked fantastic, and we didn't have an answer. But it wasn't a good night for us all around.....we couldn't get out of our own way. But that's why I'll always love opening with Radford, even years when they thump us just like they did last night. There's always a clear understanding of who we can depend on, where our trouble spots lie, and what we need to clean up. Never did catch why no one could sit on the visitor side lol! I couldn't make it to the game and had to resort to NFHS lol.
  21. Lol I'm with you on that walk. That construction is ultimately a wonderful thing for that campus, but for football games this year? Shew.... Also wanted to add, that I had the pleasure of chit chatting with a few Union fans in our little area some of us set up shop to watch the game, and very much enjoyed having you guys in. Very nice folks, lotta laughs, and of course a lot of great football stories shared. I do hope you guys come on back....Especially when that walk is shorter lol
  22. We do, but I have no idea whether or not they're streaming tonight. Likely so.
  23. Wythe Co School Board knockin the cover off the ball lately. We are finally getting new lights at Pendleton. About 15-20 years overdue. It's about to be lit... Literally.
  24. I knew I wasn't going to be the first one here with a Saltville Sinkhole story
