I think before the Tazewell County schools dropped there would be consolidation. Richlands and Tazewell would become one high school located somewhere around Cliffield with the kids from Springville that now go to Tazewell going to Graham and all of Pocy going to graham making two high school taz co. east and taz. county west

There was someone from Richlands he may have been the guy in 92 I dont remember I just remember he had a mighty mouse tattoo his name may have been Brad something. Memory fails me from 15 years ago

I know after hearing Falwell say that his school should be competitive at football I was expecting much more out of the place. You could see nothing from the bleachers because they were so level. The sun was horrible all day long the stadium must have been built for only night games. Another thing if they want to host a game of that magnitude they need to put in a visitors dressing room that doesn't require walking up a muddy bank and around to the other side of campus to get to it. Mitchell is much better.

What schools are eligible for this award, I have never heard anyone say? Congrats to Henry on the win.

Yeah I agree, McCrackan at QB, Jennings, Henry, Mcdaniel at RB, Stanton and Grundy's WR, Arms and another of Richlands linemen, Bov and Burton, not sure about the last lineman. On the Defensive side, Richlands should have several, Simmons, Pee Wee, Arms, Harrison, Gayheart, Clayborne(may have the wrong name there I am talking about the Middle linebacker), possibly mcdaniel, Carper from Graham, and probably at least one or two from CC. Jennings as the Return man, C.J. Arms as the punter, Ayers as kicker. Offensive player of the year McCrackan no idea on Defensive player of the year can they just give it to an entire team

In all fairness you did use the word Bassett in the 6th post in this thread when comparing our schedule in going undefeated to theirs with one loss. But I really just wanted to get my prediction in. My prediction: Richlands 26-LB 20

Coaches vote at all other sports I assume they do in football too. I know the 1st team will probably be dominated by Richlands anyone else have any predictions about who will be on it. Running back is going to be very deep with 3 1000 yard rushers plus Yates and Marcum (I apoligize if I am wrong but I don't think either of them got to 1000).

The referee thing did not bother me at all the officials are adults and are fair game as far as I am concerned. To be an official you have to have tough skin and know that you are going to take some criticism. But to ride the kid #33 the way they did was pointless. He knew that they were yelling at him too he looked up everytime he came over to the richlands side of the field. Like I said before these weren't other high school kids doing the yelling these were adults.

I have been a Richlands fan since I can remember and played 3 years there myself but must admit I was a little embarrassed last night. Not by the guys on the field they played their hearts out in a clean game weren't cocky or showboating. I was embarrassed by a group of fans sitting around me who continually harrassed a player on the other team. I think it was taken to far and I know that people will say he started it by taunting the crowd but these were grown men taunting a kid (it would be different if he was a college player or professional) for four quarters when they were up by 30+ points. How would you have felt if you had been his parents or him. I just wanted to get this display of poor sportsmanship off my chest.

No Jennings was in street clothes.

Magna Vista also had it happen a few years ago and ended up having to forfeit 12 games that year.

Anyone know if Jared Harrison has gotten any looks by any of the smaller schools? I figured for sure Emory and Henry, Concord, Ferrum and UVA Wise would all be glad to have him as well as he is playing this year.

I know everyone is saying the secondary had such a bad game against VA High I dont think they played nearly as bad as everyone is saying. Still shut them out. If the secondary is that weak I think that someone would have managed a touchdown against them. Will be closer then everyone else is saying because it is at Hillsville but I am still going with Richlands- 21 CC- 3

I can't even remember him getting tackled at all in the whole 3rd quarter fell once in the open field but a true tackle I can't even remember. I felt like last night was one of the best individual performances I have ever seen. I know this is off topic but great call last night moving 28 Smith out to wide receiver he had a good game too.

I havent seen the backs from Carroll so I can't and won't comment on them but have seen all of the other backs you mention, hands down the best back I have seen play is Caleb Jennings. The numbers might not be there because he missed some games hurt but he is the real deal. I would love to know how many tackles he has broken this year.

Everyone is talking about the turnovers and they did play a big part in Richlands pulling away but you know the exact moment when I said that the game was about to turn around? The holding penalty on Tazewell's second drive of the game I think it was on 55 but don't quote me on that. Up until that penalty our defense was looking as close to confused as I have ever seen them look Tazewell had just completed a nice pass that looked to have caught us by suprise but move the ball back 10 yards instead of forward close to 10. I thought that Tazewell's offense never had anything rolling again after that point up until then they looked like they believed they could drive the ball. No offense to Tazewell by this post because I thought they played a heck of a game and were dealing the hits out as hard as they were receiving them. That is just the point that I thought the game changed for them.

Thanks everyone, I knew that I remembered them having a couple of runs that probably went for 15 or so a piece but there were also times when they went 3 and out and lost yardage on every play.
