  1. Yep, it reminded me as well, im sure it reminded everyone. the difference is ALGORE still stands behind his possessive comment, while mccain denies the claim matt made. Duece, I didnt use any "big" words, Im not sure to what you are referring?
  2. Mccain immediately suggested matt stick to the campaign comments and keep the jokes to himself. Matt was making a loose connection between Mccains oversight of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation being related to the "invention of the blackberry" McCain never made any comment supporting such an ignorant claim. Lance, seriously, if you wish to debate the current politics, pick something that is real and not invented.... Im just saying
  3. well put sandman. Prices will rise for the next several weeks due to IKE, but long term looks good.
  4. This year ghs enrollment is 504, bhs 651. GHS enrollment has had a steep incline in the past several years according to the district super...... My thoughts are that as these numbers become more equivocal, and even swing more in the direction of GHS having a larger student body...Well, you all get the picture.
  5. Buzz, I have a question with regard to the remote past. Certainly correct me if I am wrong, But during those years in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s - Wasn't bluefield a AAA school? I'm pretty sure that Graham was AA and at times was urged to drop to single A. Point being if you have 600 young men from which to develop a team and I have 250, You certainly have the upper hand. It says a lot of the coaching and the character of a smaller program when it is able to compete against a larger, and win on occasion. Thoughts?
  6. Think you are mistaken pocy. Check your facts.....
  7. Truth is, this isn't about state championships, this is about last friday night and a game that in most peoples mind is as important as the state championship. I don't recall in recent history Graham Not only beating Bluefield, but dominating them. All kids got to play, sounds as though there wasn't a question who would dominate the game from the first kickoff. GO GMEN!! and yes, I hope to see bluefield improve there game enough to get back to Wheeling this year.
  8. Well, in high school football you find that on any given day any team can best another. Sounds like GHS had everything in place last night, and as alumni, I am glad to hear they won. But I sure hope Bluefield finds there feet, would like to seem them in wheeling again this year.
  9. Buzz, Is Mitchell considered as part of the Bluefield City Park Complex?
  10. Wish I could be there to see how that works out for you...
  11. Yeah, for one and a half years. played a weak side winger for a bit, but I enjoyed mucking it up in the ruck. Had my share of rakes and broken noses, but it was always worth the third half! Who did you play with?
  12. Well lets see, Ive played highschool football, baseball and wrestled. I played rugby for the navy, was there no. 2 man otherwise known as the "hooker." I have played hockey on both roller blades and on ice. Surfed, ran track, 16 years lifting weights, and then I got involved in endurance sports. Ultramarathon, Triathlon (to include Ironman) And I have to say, The toughest sport in terms continual output of raw power, and pure physical ability would have to be The long distance endurance sports hands down. Its not only the level of fitness required, but also the mental toughness. The ability to maintain focus for 10s of hours at a time and to keep pushing when your body says, "dude, lay down." Toughest in terms of injury risk would be rugby. And wrestling requires the highest output of raw power, for only 6 minutes of activity. Guess it all depends on how you define tough
  13. Gross revenues are down at the movies over this past year, and I agree that there just isnt anything good enough to go see (you only pay 6.50, try 8.50 up here in columbus!) and dont forget you nearly have to request financing for a drink and a popcorn. Never fear, though, hollywood thinks they have the answer. First they are going to put out a lot of movies appealing to "alternative lifestyles." They are also putting out a Rocky 6, another Indiana Jones, Terminator 4, and a couple of other repeat offenders that I cant recall. Dont get me wrong, I really enjoyed these movies but I just don't know that they can continue to be entertaining.....
  14. Tell mom I said hi. Glad to hear shes doing better. Make sure you put doggie sweaters on the pups. Dont want them getting a cold. See you in a couple of weeks.
