There is nothing you can do. There are times when these things become political. You will have some coaches that will "scratch" the other's back to get "their" kids on the team. It isn't right and not all coaches do it. I have heard of plenty scenarios where this has happened. Like someone said earlier, it isn't the end of the world and it probably won't break them. They may be a little upset and understandingly so, but football teaches those things and life goes on, and that is what football should be teaching at the end of the day. Not everyone that is deserving makes it and that's part of it. ALL ABOUT THE TEAM.

I agree. I started watching a little of Oscar Smith and they have a versatile attack. They line up in some traditional pro style looks. I believe you have to have answers when people take one dimension of your game away. At this time of year, weather can also take it away from you as well. I like the idea getting a team out of an 8-9 man box when the time presents itself. I just think it is difficult to do all of the time, being in the spread, especially at the high school level.

How many of the teams this year in the state finals are total spread teams? I know Riverheads, Galax, Clarke County, Lord B., Magna Vista are those that don't. There are things about redzone offense and clock management that I hate about the spread. I will have to say that the Michigan State - Iowa game was an old fashion beating from both teams.

I have heard him a few times. Once when he was the head coach at Riverdale. I thought he was a little narcissistic for my taste. On the other hand, Quarles is pretty much a total 180. I did have a chance to watch the Maryville game. Three turnovers hurt any chance they had to win.

I want to say that John Battle played at Essex a few years ago (2012?). I know that they took a large crowd and I heard several complaints about the lack of seating etc.
