  1. Buchanan to the SWD with an enrollment around 750. Honaker and Council to the Hohoheegee.
  2. A 12 team league,13 when Buchanan Co consolidates? Those week night games between Lee and Buch Co, Lee and Graham. There are some long trips there that would be regular trips
  3. 7/8 - Central will be very good from what I hear. JV - Chandler from Union will be on Varsity. Central won't be bad and neither will Union, toss up there. Varsity - Rv is the team to beat but Abingdon will be right there with them imo.
  4. TW makes 9 SWVA schools with vacancies this season alone: NW, Marion Castlewood, Honaker, Lebanon RC Central RV TW
  5. The Galax run is similar to JI Burton in the early 00s or Central Lunenburg in the late 80s/early 90s. Very good programs that had great runs but weren't the top program of the time.
  6. They have at least 1 regional runner up trophy (01) and another playoff appearance or two. Not Earth shattering by any means, but it was St Paul with something like 60 boys in the school.
  7. He was encouraged to interview for RV, which he declined. Why? who knows, maybe its just not the right fit. Palmer runs a good program, always has. I said it was a good hire when PH got him and the Rebel faithful cried that he wasn't a good coach and had only coached losers. The man won at Ervinton, St Paul, and PH. Those weren't/aren't powerhouses but he had success. Castlewood will be a solid 1A program in a few years and be a 2nd round playoff team, just give the man time
  8. Norris had some strong teams at North. I watched one Westridge game last season and they were in the Spread... idk what else they did. There are some heavy hitters on that staff for sure. I didn't know Eastside lost that much, I thought the QB and their big WR were back. Burton will be better, a few cases of addition by subtraction from what I hear. Lee High looks to improve(no other way to go really), I don't see many of those kids leaving. Carroll is a fine coach
  9. I thought the RB was a Senior last season, I'm probably wrong about that. It will be competitive as usual
  10. RC isn't good TS lost their top 2 playmaker and best OL with no replacements in sight Eastside lost some but they're replaceable TW lost their only explosive player JIB has to bounce back, right? Not unless the team finds some heart Castlewood was bad and looks to continue to be so Eastside is the favorite imo
  11. I've said that for some time. Idk about the Bland area but EKY/far SWVA, maybe NET. A totally independent league could work
  12. Its a much more complex situation now than before, thats for sure
  13. So 7 schools with new HCs in SWVA in one year? Thats way above average
  14. Neither Russell Co nor Smyth Co have the positions posted anymore so they must stopped taking applications for those jobs. Ive not heard a word about either job
  15. SWVA is WAY behind. Idk about EKY but NET throws around some big figures
  16. Apparently that's not a thing or the interim status is still in place and they're moving forward. Idk for sure
  17. Dickenson County will be taking applications for the Head Coaching position at Ridgeview High School, follow the link for information on who to contact https://www.dcps.k12.va.us/employment/vacancies
  18. It didn't seem so but Colley's offenses were always relatively balanced, the mid 90s teams with Compton at QB were the exception. Coach was throwing it around when just about everyone else was in the Wishbone so the perception was he threw the ball a ton, the reality is most of the time Coach threw the ball around 20-25 times a game and some seasons less than that. In his 2 seasons so far as OC Bubba threw the ball at a MUCH more than Colley did.
  19. Tazewell was soft, Central was very physical. That discripency was very apparent in both playoff games in 2021
  20. If he rushed for 900 then he more than doubled O'Quinns rushing total. O'Quinn had 26 passing TDs so that's a wash. No clue on attempts for either but if like to know, both threw a lot but I imagine Creasy had significantly more attempts as RV attempted a rushing game where T went all in on the passing attack(that suited their talent very well).
  21. Theyre definitely the top 2 but I'd go with O'Quinn. Imo better runner, better deep arm. 2,600 passing yards, and I'm willing to bet way more rushing yds than Creasy.
