  1. At the very top of 1A in enrollment Community support from a good sized town in comparison to other 1As(not knocking them but teams like RC, Holston, Castlewood, etc don't have that) Have a good group coming up From the outside it seems like a good job
  2. If VT was more successful I think your stance would be stronger, most of those guys aren't fantastic recruits but are good players. VT has been pretty bad for the past few seasons while guys they didn't even look at or hardly recruited are contributing (or more) at other places. Its like the Indianapolis Colts saying "we were decent this year, were not going to use our upcoming draft picks for rounds 4-7, we just want 1-3. Those other guys wont make us any better". That's not how you build a program/team. And as far as recruiting, its not like these players expected to see a VT coach 3 times a week for months. Most realize where they're from and how good they are. Many of the ones Pry and staff have signed seemingly did so after a few calls and a visit, Fuente and staff wouldn't give them the time of day. Pry's reward for investment in recruiting has been tremendous so far.
  3. Very large graduating class for the Wolfpack after this coming season
  4. Seems like the same was true for the Ridgeview job when it was open, I don't remember there being a large candidate pool
  5. I think Hartsock is a Senior. Look for the Hackney kid (played H-Back this season) to move to Tailback in 2022
  6. http://fourseasonsfootball.com/va.html Union lost to Central in their first meeting before ripping off 7 straight against the Warriors
  7. If Webb, Beavers, and Harris on the same team they would present 3 different sets of issues for defenses. They compliment each other very well. Jenkins from GC is very similar to Webb and gets overlooked due to them being down, he played TB in a Single Wing system this season but I'd like to see him on a team with with a good QB like R/T/Rv/Graham have. Imo Bradshaw, Webb, Jenkins(GC), and Mullins are athletes/Slot Recievers. Harris, Beavers, Jenkins(U) are Split Ends/"pure" wide recievers. Can't forget the guys from Abingdon which were pretty doggone good too. A lot of reciever talent in the region this past season.
  8. Imo Beavers and Harris are both very good WRs, and both very different. Imo Beavers has yet to come into his own and Harris is just about topped out. But I'm excited to see how both of them develop in the coming years
  9. Pretty much. Kids from all over Pike County as well as Floyd and Letcher. KY has the county the vehicle is registered in in their tags, lots of cars from different counties with a Pikeville P sticker in their back glass
  10. Maybe hes got other years in with the state not teaching, or maybe plans on moving to a different state job. Lots of options as long as you stay within the state system
  11. 34% championship rate? His last few successful seasons really bumped that average up. Dudes obviously a chump lol
  12. I just remembered that the state team had a really young QB after they moved the previous seasons QB to RB (good move). I remember him playing, he was a good QB
  13. No it doesn't diminish it at all, just about every season Tester was at Hurley they were competitive. Unless I'm mistaken his first season they were 0-10 but they stuck with him and let him build something. The team that lost to Parry McClure was a very good football team, even more impressive when you consider their enrollment. Norton wont be able to maintain their schools indefinitely, eventually the schools will join WIse Co with JIB being folded into Central, Norton Elementary probably stays open though.
  14. Was his son the QB on their last state title team?
  15. Tester is a fine coach, you wont find better, but that historical playoff appearance record is skewed with the regions going from 4 to 8 teams. When Norton finally joins Wise Co the kids will move but as long as JI Burton is open that community will stay together. It would take getting a Norton guy to be the HC at Union or Central for Norton kids to leave and im not sure it would happen then imo.
  16. The devotion of Norton kids(and their families) to "The CIty" is unparalleled. Those kids ain't leaving
  17. What did he do at GC? I know his sons played for the Blue Devils. Guys got no HC experience
  18. I didn't mean that as a shot at him, but a shot at those that want WRs all over the place and the ball in the air 30+ times a game. Davis is very varied within the I offense and very good at it. He stretches the defense vertically and horizontally with the plays he calls. Definitely a complete offense, just depends on what whoever is pulling the strings in Western Scott County wants
  19. Mountain 7 Battle... poor Battle. Lee, who knows. Central should fall off a little. Ridgeview will be gearing up for a potentially deep playoff run. Union will be reloading, they lose almost all of their offense from 2021 (QB, top RB and WR). Lee looks to be better. Gate City who knows, probably better overall but they lose their best player and the majority of their offense. Abingdon, they lose a lot but seem to have built a strong program. They will have the QB who started the season back but I think they lose both RBs and at least 2 WRs. I don't know much about the SWD but Tazewell has some young talent this season. Richlands will be different next season after losing a couple of playmakers. Graham looks to be strong again but may take a step back after losing 2 D1 players. Marion shew, seems like they were young in 2021. Virginia I know they lose some and return some, they could have another good year. 1D A lot of weak teams. Holston loses what was left of the talent from this 2 year run, we will see if they can reload. Not sure about the other teams up that way. Rye Cove has a lot coming up but will be very young. Thomas Walker loses their bet player and didnt have much else in terms of playmakers. Castlewood wasn't good and looks to stay true to form. Eastside loses a lot (QB, RB, WR). Twin Springs loses a lot (WR, RB, best OL). JIB should bounce back if Caudill can rally the troops. Honaker doesn't have a lot to work with. Twin Valley lost their superstar and idk if they have the kids to replace him. Hurley has been young for a couple of seasons and may finally be growing up but they still don't have a lot of talent.
  20. He will be a HC somewhere soon if he wants it, quality guy and a very good coach. Davis is a I-Formation guy to the core, "modern" he is not
  21. Theyre at the very top of their classification(1A) in Virginia. The consistency is impressive and their schedule is mostly made up of larger schools
  22. I thought Lee's QB was a underclassmen? Ridgeview is looking at the makings of a really strong season in 2022
  23. Riverheads is a fantastic example of what can happen when an entire community gets behind a coach and let's him lead the way: trusting him, following him, and supporting him instead of undermining him and actively working against him
