  1. I didnt say he was the best QB, but he is a great athlete
  2. Clintwood is big on the OLine quick in the backfield and unlike most years throw the ball consistantly. Im not saying EM cant do it(ive only seen 1 short highlight film of them) but it will take a realy good team to do it. The two things that make Clintwood so hard to defend this year is their mid range passing game and the fact that their QB is probably gonna be the best/fastest athletes on the field
  3. Very classy move on your part. Hard move to make but its the right one
  4. Thanks, I thought it was earlier than normal saturday playoff games
  5. nice vid the catch at 3:18 is nice! The most impressive part of his game for me is that all of the downfield passes he goes and gets the ball, he doesent wait for it to come to him #44s block at 4:37 was great!
  6. What time does the 1st game start saturday?
  7. That still doesent answer the question Youve gotta catch 'em to hit 'em.
  8. ive been reading the Cave Spring / Richlands threads and it seems as though some people are saying CS is really fast and some blues fans are responding with "we are fast to". CS runs 2x2 with 4 fast WRs, the question then is does Richlands have 4 fast/quick DBs to match up to them. I assume the LBs will be watching the QB/HB and the safteys will be playing deep/support 12-15 yards off the ball and im sure CS will throw it deep just enough to keep them there! The question then is not do the Blues have fast players, but 1 on 1 can they match up? Because if not it seems like CS will throw short and get their yards in small chunks and try to break big plays
  9. Youre right about SWVA having less of a voice in VA but wrong about the VHSL forcing Grundy and Graham to play up in AA. The VHSL may have wanted Graham in Reg D and they wanted to go to C but thats about it as far as I know. Abingdon is at a disadvantage come playoff time but nobody makes fun of them for that, its the regular season that the Falcons struggle with. Abingdon is almost twice the size of many of its district opponents and 4 times the size of some of its regular season opponents and struggles to compete, thats why people rag on the Falcons so much.
  10. yeah I took you wrong and I sounded like a jerk toward TS, but its the truth
  11. I always liked playoff games on saturdays, its warmer for the fans, day games alwats felt special and the crowds are often bigger.
  12. They arent but at least Coeburn won something. Congragulations to the Twin Springs Titans they finished 3rd the the Cumberland!
  13. I dont know for sure but I havent heard anything regarding injuries.
  14. I really dont mind teams/fans colorcoordinating and "blacking out" stadiums, IF THEIR TEAM COLORS INCLUDE BLACK! Washington has decided to have a blackout tonight in their game with UCLA. Now correct me if im wrong but Washingtons colors are Purple and Gold(which looks sharp by the way), but in no way do they use black! Why not have a purple out? Helmets Jerseys Pants the whole deal and all of the fans can wear purple! It just really aggravates me when teams use colors that arent part of the normal scheme. Haysi a few years ago even did this wearing black jerseys for a game. Its not a matter of hating black uniforms, Pound for instance always looks great in their all black unis. It just seems kinda cheap to me "oh lets be cool like those guys". I like the way Penn State does it, White Out now thats cool ! Am I the only one bothered by this? I just realized I sound a little like Mad Max from John Boy and Billy
  15. Haysi isint worthy of a playoff spot but they would blow Twin Springs away, as would Appalachia. I really cant believe there is a newspaper article on them, a team that lucked into the playoffs and will be down by 40+ at halftime. Do an article on one of the good teams or at least Coeburn, they havent been in the playoffs in years and they won the Cumberland District
  16. total complete beatdown! But I have seen Coeburn play a few games over the past few years and this looks like a completly different team, more motivated and running a offense that makes sense. They dont have anything for GC but they are moving in the right direction, its good to see a once proud program make a move in the right direction
  17. Haysi has alot of that, espicially right now. The redneck boys just arent interested and those are often your tough defensive players. You are right though liltiger Honaker at one time always had those cornfed boys, they dont seem to be there now.
  18. Should be the best game of the Region D playoffs. Ive got the Tigers in a very close game.
  19. Haysi throws the ball alot but not 30 times a game, its generally around 15 sometimes more somtimes less. I have only seen Coach Colley throw the ball 30 times on rare occasions, usually when the team is outmatched and has trouble running the ball. I would guess that Blair only has around 120 attempts on the season. Waynick improved ALOT from last year to this year. Last season he was just tall and didnt know how to use his size, this season he was a much more polished reciever and played big. Cooper did a good job of putting the ball where only Waynick could get it. Haysis system does have alot to do with the success of our QBs but they still have to make the throws. The same could be said for Rawlings, Hurleys offense is set up to get him the ball in alot of different ways(inside leads toss sweeps jet sweeps). Doesent the system give him alot of his stats? not trying to downplay what he did this season at all he is a fine runningback
  20. "As for that avatar, week 10 has came and gone...and so has it" Does it feel like you took a giant kick me sign off your back? lol
  21. I can agree with both of those, espicially Rawlings. Honaker may of had a better rushing attack but no one had a better season than Rawlings. I still say Blair is the best QB in the district but in district play he didnt really show up and Cooper did, atleast against Haysi and Twin Valley. Honaker from Honaker will probably get POY and he earned it good #s and he showed up in district games!
  22. this has went far beyond the running clock rule but still, what is the point difference at which the clock continiously runs? 35? and dont the clock rules go back to normal if that gap is closed?
  23. My mistake Gizmo, for a second I assumed you were crying like southbound or falconman about how life wasnt fair. My bad Im sure this has been brought up on here before but how many schools in Reg D do have wrestling programs? JJ Kelly, Castlewood, Appalacia, I assume most of the clinch mountain schools? and while were at it how does the wrestling regular season and postseason work, school Avs school B or meets, then playoffs or regional meets? I know little about it but I think DC High is going to try to start a wrestling program when the new school is built so I am very interested! I figured Grundy stayed AA for wrestling and tradition. The way things were is quickly disappearing in this area, dont know if it is good or bad? I dont think any of the BDD schools have wrestling teams, I think a few tried back in the 90s but failed due to a lack of interest, I may be way off on that though! Grundy would be very solid this year in the Reg D playoffs, probably regional runner up, I dont see them being able to beat Gate City but I could see them beating Honaker.
  24. Grundy will be kinda in the middle in terms of numbers in A. I know Lance knows this and observer has already pointed it out but Grundy wanted to play up and be AA (exactly why is beyond me) well they got what they wanted. I dont think there is anything to complain about!
