  1. Is Wheeling really uping the ante everytime to fight off other bidders every two years? I thought I read that Wheeling gave the SSAC an additional $75K. Is that right?
  2. [ QUOTE ] Try reading who it was replied to at the top of the post. Instead you try to give someone a hard time and ask them if they can read.....I have a college diploma from a good 4 year institution. Also, I know how to use the quote function, but thanks for your assistance. [/ QUOTE ] St. Mary's school for the illiterate? Oh my gosh I used the "quote" button and now everyone knows which post I am talking about!
  3. [ QUOTE ] I assume you are speaking of Coach Rod? If you are.....Alabamba tossed some cash his way to go to the SEC and he declined. He grew up in WV, he played at WV. WVU will have to pay the man if he wins a NC. They will! It's so sad to see people in such dissaray because WVU has a shot at this year. Hell I cheered for VT in the FSU game ....but they were big east. [/ QUOTE ] Can you read??? "in 1994" my post reads. That is when WVU got into the Big East for all sports and blocked VT and Temple for all sports after the joined Syracuse in saying "they would not vote for expansion that did not include VT and Temple." I could care less what Rich Rod did to Alabama. Beamer did the same to North Carolina.
  4. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] If that is the case.....which it's not, then maybe Tech should have stayed instead of taking shut up money. They were part of a lawsuit against the ACC for attempting to take Miami and BC.....the ACC shoved money their way and they said on second thought......We'll play in the always corrupt conference. [/ QUOTE ] Good point... then we wouldnt have to hear about how every WVU player and future player are gods, and so is every other Big East team. [/ QUOTE ] WVU did the same school screwing in 1994 to Temple and VT. Took the money and looked out for their own best interest after they agreed they wouldn't do what they did.
  5. [ QUOTE ] No, I'm pulling for Bluefield to win but I've got a bad feeling about this one...kinda like the "perfect storm" for James Monroe. Honestly, I'd love to see Bluefield win the game by seven or eight TDs but I just don't think its going to happen... [/ QUOTE ] I hope that feeling you have is just gas! Go fart and then make your prediction.
  6. [ QUOTE ] lol as long as pat white stays....Auburn is in trouble....bring them on. I'll root for VT against OSU.....can't stand them. Never the less.....Wisconsin is a joke. Nebraska.......are you kidding me....you'd be better off keeping ECU or someone. OSU is your only school there and they play in a chump conference....go get an SEC school. As far as what frank said....I'll look for it...I saw the press conference lol. If I find it I'll holler at ya. [/ QUOTE ] SEC schools won't play VT. We've tried. VT got lucky with LSU and Auburn signed back out. Mich. St. and Colorado are no better for WVU then Nebraska and Wisconsin are for VT. You still don't provide a valid argument. I'm done with this thread. Peace out!!
  7. Auburn dropped the VT series in search of an easy win and they contacted WVU. VT had LSU, has Ohio State coming, Nebraska, Wisconsin just to name a few. You still do not speak with much intelligence. BTW.....Beamer never said that and if you can provide proof that he did, then do so.
  8. [ QUOTE ] LOL I guess what it boils down to is that WVU is #2 and no ACC team has a shot at THE national championship this year. If we are worthy we will win our rivalry game and play for the championship! Anyone can argue strength of schedule.......you know.....playing the local high school....William and Mary. You can't even use Marshla....It was mandated by the Governor. The ACC conference schedule looks good on paper..........name wise......but it sucks worse than 5 other conferences. [/ QUOTE ] I guess WVU never schedules 1-AA teams. Who the hell was Eastern Washington last year and who the hell is Villanova next year on WVU's schedule??? The same as Bill & Mary. WVU is benefiting from losing early and everyone else losing late.
  9. [ QUOTE ] interesting???????????????????????? http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/10495964 articles all about opinions..sort of like our conversations what bowl you going too..have fun in Miami...I will be in New Orleans...no not for the sugar bowl silly,,,the national championship... [/ QUOTE ] I've been there, it was a good time. We'll be back, soon.
  10. [ QUOTE ] your right wvu is awful take a look at it no tradtion at all never played for a championship..oops...sorry forgot about 88, shalacked in 93 but did play for a share...most likely in 2007....beat oklahoma in the days when okie ( under switzer) was almost unbeatable....that was 82 for all you crazy nuts...wvu is terrible...keep thinking...and hokies at the end of this year...it is very possible, other than the series lead 28-23...wvu will have two more natinal championship appearances than you and also possibly 1 more national champioship....I am thinking of getting a tatoo of 304....its a little tastier than 757 [/ QUOTE ] Did I say a word about what the eff WVU did 25 years ago??? I am simple stating that WVU has not played a tougher schedule then Virginia Tech has this year.
  11. interesting........... http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/7492594
  12. [ QUOTE ] lol clemson is questionable.......so inconsistent and tech almost choked on that one too. The only "quality" team was BC and they are falling apart! UVA........only beat UCONN by 1 point at home! [/ QUOTE ] I can think of a couple of teams that WVU almost pissed away too, Cincy & Loserville. Before you start to bash other teams take a look at your own!
  13. I wonder if Taylor pissed someone off. Nothing about this seems normal. Several break in attemps with the last being eight days ago and that intruder left a knife on Taylor's bed. I heard this morning that the phone lines to Taylor's house had been cut. Just seems out of place to me for a robbery.
  14. Gundy is an instant classic! I still am using that line!
  15. Still no proof that Beamer said that, eh? Just what I thought, you didn't know what you were talking about.
  16. update..... Sean Taylor "Clinging To Life" Richard Sharpstein, who has represented Sean Taylor in legal matters in the past and is a friend of the family, said moments ago that the player's life is hanging in the balance in the hospital. Sharpstein, speaking from the hospital, said Taylor is "nonresponsive and unconscious" and the doctors are "worried about a possible brain injury or death." Sharpstein, who has been with Taylor's family at the hospital much of the day, said that there are major worries that Taylor may have lost oxygen to the brain, and that no other procedures are planned for right now. "They're waiting to see if he comes to," Sharpstein said. He was shot in the groin/thigh area near the femoral artery and lost copious amounts of blood. The intruders then retreated and Sean was airlifted to the trauma center and endured several hours of surgery, Sharpstein said. Taylor is in intensive care, Sharpstein said, and his girlfriend and child were not injured in the attack. Sharpstein said Taylor was sleeping when he heard a noise in the living room. The intruder or intruders were at his bedroom and Taylor reached for a machete or other form of knife he keeps nearby in case of emergency, and two shots were fired, with one striking his leg. "Right now he's clinging to life and we're all praying he makes it," Sharpstein said. Sharpstein said there have been numerous break ins, or break in attempts, on Taylor's house in recent weeks
  17. Ted Roof is now gone at Duke with the assist to coach K.
  18. [ QUOTE ] If frank was not scared to play VT than Vt would be on WVU schedule we can't help it you dropped us...we did pick up auburn and colorado for non conference next year so we hope that makes you happy along with Marshall and East Carolina. That will be a good schedule...Don't be jealous VT you should have taken care of your business and you would not be talking right now...BC is one of the slowest teams in the nation...you guys will beat them by 3 tchdowns this weekend. [/ QUOTE ] I believe it was your governor that had more to do with the series being dropped then the head coaches at either school by putting the Marshall - WVU series together!! Maybe if the WVU fans would act a little better in the stadium to visiting fans and Tony Caridi wasn't an instigator and an a$$ on his radio show, maybe the series would have continued.
  19. Here here! Once again, you beat me to it hokie07!! lol
  20. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21975721/ PALMETTO BAY, Fla. - Washington Redskins star safety Sean Taylor was shot at his home Monday and was in critical condition, and police are investigating a possible robbery. Officers were sent to Taylor’s home at about 1:45 a.m. after his girlfriend called 911 and said he was shot in his lower body, Lt. Nancy Perez said. He was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital, she said, but did not disclose how many times he was shot. Investigators were still interviewing the girlfriend and other relatives who were in the home to try to determine what happened, Perez said. “It could have been a possible burglary; it could have been a possible robbery,†Perez said. “It has not been confirmed as yet.†Taylor’s father asked that no information about his condition be released, hospital spokeswoman Lorraine Nelson said. Taylor has a home in the Miami suburb of Palmetto Bay that he bought two years ago. The 24-year-old player is in his fourth season with the Redskins after playing at the University of Miami, where he was an All-American in 2003. He leads the team with five interceptions but has missed the last two games because of a knee injury. In Ashburn, Va., the Redskins canceled their scheduled open locker room period for reporters Monday and barred the media from talking to players. Coach Joe Gibbs was to address the team at its usual Monday meeting and was to hold his weekly news conference later in the day. The Redskins (5-6) lost 19-13 at Tampa on Sunday. Taylor did not travel with the team to the game because of his knee injury. Taylor sprained a ligament in his right knee in the second half of the Nov. 11 loss to Philadelphia. He was expected to miss at least two games, probably more. Known as one of the NFL’s hardest hitters, Taylor played in his first Pro Bowl last season, where he drew attention by leveling the other team’s punter in what is usually a well-mannered exhibition game. Even though he has missed two games, his five interceptions remained tied for most in the NFC. Taylor has been in trouble numerous times since he was drafted as the No. 5 overall pick in 2004. He has been fined at least seven times during his professional career for late hits and other infractions, including a $17,000 penalty for spitting in the face of Tampa Bay running back Michael Pittman during a playoff game in January 2006. He also was fined $25,000 for skipping a mandatory rookie symposium shortly after he was drafted. Redskins coaches and players have defended Taylor, saying he was smart and misunderstood. Taylor has been slow to let anyone in his inner circle. He has rarely spoken to reporters, saying he does not trust them. Teammates said he became more mature over the last year after he became a father for the first time. In 2005, Taylor was accused of brandishing a gun at a man and repeatedly hitting him during a fight that broke out after Taylor and some friends went looking for the people who had allegedly stolen his all-terrain vehicles. Taylor reached a deal with prosecutors last year after they agreed to drop felony charges against him. He pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors in the assault case and was sentenced to 18 months probation. The pleas prompted another fine from the NFL but kept his football career intact. He also was ordered to talk about the importance of education at 10 Miami schools and had to contribute $1,000 for scholarships to each of those schools. The man Taylor allegedly hit, Ryan Hill, sued, seeking at least $15,000 in damages. Hill sustained bruises to his body, incurred medical expenses and lost wages because of the fight, the lawsuit said.
  21. [ QUOTE ] They really can't deny or say anything about it, it was so bad (don't really think they are proud of it, but they do like to remind everyone of their state titles, including that one). They kind of sympathized with the call, kind of like some did to us in the parking lot after the game Friday. Just too many calls or no calls over the years at Salem in the playoffs that have made many draw their own conclusions. [/ QUOTE ] That is the same reaction I've gotten from the Salem alum I work with.
  22. That is the game. The picture in the paper showed the guy way out of bounds.
  23. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] It was Chris Ellis that grabbed Sewell. I thought it was a horse collar tackle, but the replay showed it to be Ellis's right arm around the QB's chest dragging him down. No face mask I could see. It was wrong of Ellis to applaude Sewell as he was walking off injured. That s%$# didn't need to happen. I thought the game was well played by both teams and a joy for fans to watch. Just like watching two heavyweights trading punches at each other. Good luck to UVA in their bowl game. I'm still not sold on Stiny, but Tyrod can make any OC look good. [/ QUOTE ] I will be the first person to tell you that Chris Ellis doesn't always say or do the right things, but if you watch the replay in which they played over and over again, when Sewell gets up he initiates the conversation with Ellis and Chris only responded. Afterwards, Sewell proceeded to talk as he left the field, exchanging words with Vince Hall. I'm in no way saying that it is Virginia's fault for that confrontation, but I will be the first to say that, for once actually, Chris Ellis did not instigate it! LOL [/ QUOTE ] He still doesn't need to pull that crap. This has been his best year about not getting personal fouls since he got to Blacksburg, but there is just no sense in that kind of play on the field. Go back to the huddle and get ready for the next play! Don't let the refs catch you in something!

  25. Ask Amherst Co. from a couple of years ago about playing Salem in Salem. I know officials are human and all and may miss a call here or there, but in Salem, things seem to favor the home team.
