  1. I was with some family members this weekend who are Graham fans.  We were talking about the situation.  The fan said this and I agreed.  "Maybe build a  sponsorship  wall, or a brick walkway at the new stadium.  Each donor could buy a brick for $100 or whatever is deemed appropriate.  It wouldn't be a "financial windfall", but it could be a help in the things that still need completing.

Not local teams, but excited for the Loris Lions this year.  May this new season be a continuation of last year's success.

This is also my wish for the Richlands Blues.  The last 3 years have been hard, but my heart is hopeful this is a "turn around year" for the Blues.  And admirer wants the best always.  Never any struggles, never any downturns.  A supporter believes that tomorrow can be a better day. Storms weather you, or you weather  the  storm.  Keep pushing, keep getting up.  Life rises with each new day that starts.   It's the breath you inhale and exhale.  Never let what's behind you, be bigger then  the goal before you.  Never reduce the capacity of breathing in the new day, the new season.   Don't let past seasons be a dark cloud that hovers over 2025.      The field awaits, the plays are ready, the game plan is to bring your best to each kickoff.  I'm excited for your season Big Blues.  Put "W's"  beside of that "lighting R."

    GO BLUES!!!

    GO LORIS LIONS!!!

  3. I have loved the pictures of the various stadiums'  LM has challenged us with.  The only one I was pretty sure about was Richlands, and the one I should have know was Abingdon's.  History has always been a draw for me.  It's the genesis of our civilization, our nation and the heart of our heritage.  From my grandmother's trunk, even now with many years tacked on, I'm learning new things about my family.

Reflecting on the posts Liam's made, showing these stadiums in their infancy, such a treasure to see.  Not where they are now, but where they began.

I am reminded of the story I posted on the new football stadium in the city of Buford, GA with a mind boggling cost of  62 million dollars.  It's unfathomable, a high school stadium costing this.   There are deep pockets there, but has it created the history of the community, or a monument the community can build.

After being denied public funding in 1964, volunteers cleared land and sold timber at the new stadium site.

Boosters also went door-to-door to raise money.

The stadium first opened in 1967 and is still in use today

The quote cited above, is what we have built on.  Our local communities creating a rich heritage with these stadiums built here.  Time may erase the structure, but never the memories created.  Wealth isn't always measured by the size of the wallet, but the size of the community's DNA to continue to better the next generation.

2-0 final appo won. Phillips threw a 67 pitch gem and couldnt get the win. Most Lebanon teams would be able to win a state quarterfinal game only giving up 2 runs. Appo pitcher was probably hitting 76 and they just flat out couldn’t hit. I’ll still take the worst post-covid pioneers team making the state tourney in a very very down year. Onto hoops season Leb has some very talented underclassmen coming up to help one of the best hoops players in swva.

I was hoping the Pioneers would win.  2-0 isn't a drubbing in a quarter-final game.  Congrats to the Pioneers in a strong showing.

  5. FINAL

    After 5 innings

    Fluvanna  0

    Abingdon  10

    In this inning

Humpries under 75 pitches for game.  so eligible for Friday at Fluvanna vs. James Monroe.
