I always heard good things about T.J. and he is still admired and missed in the Tazewell community. I say they either retire his number or do as Michigan did with the #98 jersey. If the number is not retired make it a special number. Put a patch on the jersey remembering T.J. and maybe give it to a senior each year who excels on and off the field and who has dedicated himself to his team, school and town. Also I think it would give the players some extra pride and determination....make them work harder to want to wear that jersey.
Just a thought.
Wayne was by far more physical. They could run #3 anytime they wanted basically for 3 or 4 yards every time. Wayne also had more speed then I expected.
But Bluefield way simply out coached. I felt that that Bluefield was in control of the game until the second half. Defense looked out of place and confused with what Wayne was running. Don't think #45 for Bluefield touched the ball the entire second half when he was having his way with Wayne's defense in the second quarter. Bluefield played tough and had a chance to win, and I think they had more talent.....Wayne was just better coached.
Great article about Mitchell Stadium and the uniqueness of it.

Great win for Richlands, don't think anybody expected it to come down to the final seconds but they came through when it mattered the most. Sounded like a freshman came up big toward the end! Richlands radio announcers didn't seem to happy about the attendance of last nights game and then some of their actions after Abingdon went up 17-7.
This is great site where you can track all teams. Not sure who runs it or how it is all calculated but the site usually is updated early in the week. I'm thinking Graham isn't' going to make it in without winning out. Bland was winless and ranked last in Single A coming into last nights game and Narrows was ranked 27th before last nights loss.

You are right....It was Richlands that decided not to renew the contract last time. Ultimately led Bluefield to having to fill their schedules with the teams from Charlotte.
Simmons did the right thing in not letting those kids play. But the attitude of those boys needs to change! Personally I'd run them til they puked and then make them wash the all the shorts, shirts and jocks just to get a chance to play again.
Richlands will have their hands full this week and for the next two weeks with Virginia High, who is much improved, and with Bluefield. When was the last time Richlands lost 2 or even 3 regular season games?
LB has had some good wins this year against some very respectable teams. Richlands has had trouble over the past few years against teams from the Roanoke area. LB by a touchdown.
