  1. You are right on. We definately don't need to get into some things. As a bulldog I understand how coacher feels too. Nobody wants to hear how bad our program is when both of us have experienced much greater days in T-town. Like I said though, I'm done with this topic and moving on to support the new HC. There is a lot of talent moving up in the next few years and the may just get a little lucky and see some success soon.
  2. Lance you are right about 2 things for sure. First being its been beat to death on here, and 2 there is way too much negativity at times in Tazewell by some fans. My point is the last 3 years have had nothing to do with that. It is very easy to sit back and say "they ran him off again" but last I checked not one head coach in the last 30 years in Tazewell was fired. They all chose to leave on their own accord. Yes I know some were pressured, but aren't they all? The best learn how to deal with it and stay focused on the kids and tryingto make them better men that can handle the pressures that come in life. That's all I will say on this. Best of luck to Coach Allen and the rest of Tazewell Football!!
  3. Interesting...you should enlighten us to all your knowledge on the situation.
  4. Actually, Wyatt left because of a decision that he didn't agree with dealing with personnel. Smith left because his assistants all resigned, and he and Tate had plenty of support from the community. I think what the guys on here are upst about is most of the guys on here are going on what the have heard to be true, which isn't the case in the past 3 years.
  5. I have a feeling that when Thomas Jefferson was discussing Seperation of Church and State and the First Amendment, he was talking about issues like this, not about saying a prayer in school or things like that. I wonder how the Founding Fathers would decide how such an issue would be resolved?
  6. No doubt that there are politics involved! But you are laying the blame in the wrong area. Every town has parents that dislike how things are done by the head coach. BUT not every school let's those parents call the shots. Until the HC at THS is allowed to have some control over these situations, or at least some backing, nothing will change. Go ask every coach since Dave Litz and they will say the same thing.
  7. Ok I have kept my mouth shut on this for 3 years now. I have been a fan, player, coach, and now a fan again. I could talk for days about the problems with tazewell ftball! Lol but I will stay on this subject. Coach Wyatt is a great coach from august to november. It was the offseason that the people didn't like. He wasn't around football, but especially the community, enough. The cruise just pushed things over the edge. But that being said, coach Wyatt left on his own, it was his decision over something that had nothing to do with the people of Tazewell or the way they felt about him.

  9. It more safe now. I've witnessed several injuries on those sidelines. Btw, the girls have played on that field for a few years now. They also hosted a soccer tournament on there and Lincolshire. I'm not sure why the boys don't use the football field, maybe they don't want to?
  10. No, they didn't do that for soccer. It was a safety issue for football.
  11. Should get interesting come playoff time since they won't let teams "play up" divisions anymore with the new plan. Phoebus will be Div 4 too! Salem, Pulaski, Carroll County...
  12. How did you get that from what he said? He said Grundy was on another level and asked if second was a possibility. Sounds to me like he was showing Grundy some respect. To answer the original question, I doubt they will get that close. It will be hard for Graham to get enough wrestlers out of region C to contend for a State Team title.
  13. I agree to an extent. My biggest problem is that students do not have the "right" to play sports in public school. They have to earn it by maintaining grades, attendance, and behavior, among other things. "Home school" kids will not have to obide by the every day rules that kids who attend school, public or private, have to deal with. Sports are more of a privilage, than a right.
  14. I'm interested to know what coaches had kids playing all these years?
  15. I agree! But I really don't believe this is the truth.
  16. Always??? Thats a pretty strong statement. Lou Peery has nothing to do with Tazewell football. He is not even a teacher anymore. He is the baseball coach. I would like to know which radio station reported this. I hope there isn't any truth to it. Somebody said Richlands should play there JV, well Tazewell is down to there backup JV players in most positions. I am very proud of the ones that stuck it out. For the first time in years, These kids are acting like football means something to them and don't care about what Mama and Daddy say. It looks bad now, but things will turn around when Coach Tate gets some coaching help and kids understand he won't put up with Little League parent input. Good Luck Dawgs!
  17. You are correct. They had talent, but more importantly they had a group of seniors that loved Tazewell football and were tired of losing. Wyatt came in and gave them the spark they needed to get going. Wyatt also made some changes after a 1-2 start that changed the rest of the year.
  18. I think he was talking about Hart's last year. 1-9. Same thing happened the year before the Pocy boys came in. 1-9
  19. I'm pretty sure he made that decision when he got benched for the Freshman qb! I heard he went to talk to Richlands 2 weeks ago.
  20. This has been the problem for years as Lance said! The only difference is Coach Tate could care less what people think and has the nerve to do what a Head Coach should do in this situation. He must be doing something right when 32 8th graders attended weight lifting last night!
  21. Like what? What has he done negatively? This is the first time I have heard this from anyone associated with him at ths. I witnessed Coach Tate with 3 of these players Monday night and they were definately getting along just fine.
  22. I hope he stays. If he makes it through this storm, he will be setting a huge example to the younger players and the parents that think they run Tazewell football. He is more worried about making fine young men than wins and losses.
