  1. Brad Fox has been on heckuva player this year for Bluefield. Who could have predicted this kid's insanely productive impact on this season. What a sophomore coming out party for Fox this season. I'm very anxious to see what happens in his remaining career.
  2. Bluefield can't do crap on offense without Jake as a threat. Radio said he aggravated his shoulder and they are limiting his carries.
  3. From what I've heard, now granted this is just hear say, Marcus Patterson has been offered by Rutgers and he and Jake Lilly both have offers from Akron. Don't take what I say for fact; this is just what I've heard from various individuals.
  4. I'm not buying all the people on WV Preps who are already handing this game to Bluefield. Wayne will come to play and play hard. Bluefield wins, but closer than most think. Bluefield - 26 Wayne - 20
  5. If this was an assessment of last year's team, I would agree 100%. The teams in the years before that, no. I watched every game from the 2005-2007 seasons and Bluefield was able to compete with and/or beat the best teams in the state while utilizing their speed and never really being greatly outsized in any matchup. However, it seemed as when the Beavers set foot in the Charleston Civic Center, the coaching philosophy changed. Somehow Charleston brought about changing the full court press, changing the fast paced offense, and switching the gameplan completely. I agree that last year's team had no size and couldn't compete with anyone if they were forced to shot the ball, but the teams in the past were just fine until someone in a shirt and tie decided to screw things up. And this isn't just from me; you can ask anyone (beavertail, hokie, rocks among others) who sat beside me many times and watched the same thing.
  6. Exactly. The problems with the players/fans is also the reason the Bluefield/Pikeview basketball games will soon be coming to an end (if they haven't already). Now I am not saying this because I am a graduate of Bluefield, but Pikeview's basketball team (aside from one or two) have to be some of the dirtiest, bush league players I've ever seen touch a court. And the fans that come to those games are no different. I heard the football games a while back between these two schools got very out of hand between the players and fans alike, so I wasn't suprised to see it start happening on the hardwood as well.
  7. If anything, the moronic goalie shouldn't have stopped playing when he thought a call should have been made. If anything, it is his, as well as the other players who starting crying, fault for losing the game. In typical soccer style, the cry babies started boo hooing at the refs and it came back to bite them. Big boys don't cry.
  8. Watching this game, I honestly didn't think Sherman did too much to beat Bluefield. Sherman took advantage of poor tackling and a lot, A LOT, of over-pursuit. The quarterback was always under heavy rush, but missed tackles allowed him to escape. I really don't think he did anything impressive to get away from the rush the whole night. That being said, Sherman came to play and didn't back down for most of the game. However, I felt like they gave up the second half. Maybe they were tired, I don't know because I wasn't on the field, but they seemed dead. Congrats to Bluefield, but they better buckle their seatbelts for next weeks matchup with Magnolia.
  9. It's the Bluefield Daily Telegraph. "How is it still available?" is the better question.
  10. I rememeber showing up at Tolsia's field that cold November night and seriously laughing in complete shock that we were going to have to play on a field in that condition. Nic Williams, the center at that time, told me that on many snaps he had not only the ball but his entire wrist to mid forearm under water/mud. And yes, not to mention the shakiest bleachers in the world. Even worse than when the Bluefield student section broke the ones in Princeton's gym.
  11. That's a great question. What else is great is the fact that the video you posted was done by the LSU faithful. Gotta love the Bayou Bengals.
  12. You took the words right out of my mouth, Hillbilly. I was just going to say that if only Princeton were so lucky to have their coach suspended.
  13. Theyll be back, don't worry. Armed robbery, schmarmed schmobbery.
  14. In all honesty, this was my exact prediction
  15. If I had to pick three players from the area to build a team around, I'd have to pick Jake Lilly, Marcus Patterson, and Tevin Allen. Not trying to show bias at all to the WV side of things...just these three without a doubt came to mind when thinking of the best football players of the area.
  16. This isn't neccesarily a Jake Lilly coronation, but when asked who is the best local player it seems everyone is in agreement.
  17. 1st Round: 1. Wayne vs. 16. Oak Glen (Wayne 44-14) 2. Magnolia vs. 15. Roane (Magnolia (52-6) 3. Sherman vs. 14. Chapmanville (Chapmanville 26-12) 4. Frankfort vs. 13. Herbert Hoover (Frankfort 14-7) 5. Westside vs. 12. Pikeview (Westside 7-6) 6. Bluefield vs. 11. Liberty-Raliegh (Bluefield 44- 7) 7. Keyser vs. 10. Pt. Pleasant (Keyser 27-21) 8. Ravenswood vs. 9. James Monroe (James Monroe 21-17) 2nd Round: 1. Wayne vs. 9. James Monroe (Wayne 28-14) 2. Magnolia vs. 7. Keyser (Magnolia 40- 10) 6. Bluefield vs. 13 Chapmanville (Bluefield 34-13) 4. Frankfort vs. 5. Westside (Westside 25-23) 3rd Round: 1. Wayne vs. 4. Westside (Wayne 30- 14) 2. Magnolia vs. 6. Bluefield (Bluefield 14-10) Championship Game: 1. Wayne vs. 6. Bluefield (Bluefield 23-20)
  18. I can truly see Princeton making some noise in these playoffs from the 16th seed. They are not a bad team at all. The defense is pretty legit, they have one of the best running backs in the state; all around, they are a good team (much better than the deceiving 16th seed, IMO). None of their losses are to bad teams; in fact, their losses are to high quality playoff teams. The main question, coaching: Can Spadaro screw this up?
  19. The BDT is a joke, especially the sports section. From the favoritism toward certain teams, the not-so-obvious bashing of certain teams, the incorrect stats, the wrong names, the horrible photography...I don't even know where to begin.
  20. There is more to this story and I know this to be fact. Do you work correctly, Mr. Woodson.
  21. I agree, GMan. If you want to play for the school you should be a student at the school. Like you said, if the school isn't good enough for his education, then he shouldn't be allowed to sport the colors.
