  1. It really doesn`t bother me. I haven`t eaten at McDonald`s in a while now. It is hard for me to spend my money there since they have been supporting the homosexual agenda. I can spend my money at places that do not support it.
  2. [ QUOTE ] Scrimmages start this friday and I haven't heard hardly any scrimmage schedules...somebody please report. Also, doesn't Marion scrimmage Floyd again? [/ QUOTE ] I heard anything about Floyd again. All I know is they scrimmage Fort Chiswell at Marion this week and they host Rural Retreat in a benifit game next Friday.
  3. Marion hosts Fort Chiswell friday at 7:00.
  4. I guess all I can do is go and support my team. I don`t have to have them there lol.
  5. I always enjoyed hearing Skip call the Braves games. God bless his family.
  6. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] **Better year than usual last year...do they still play 4 and watch 3? Last time I was there the entire home crowd left when the 4th Q started...and it was a close game? wtf? Well some fans do leave early, why I do not know. I myself stay from the beginning to the end no matter what! No matter what the score or what the record. Marion has many fair weather fans. [/ QUOTE ] Thats just it...the thing that got me is that it was a really close game..it was a good game to watch..4th qtr rolled around and half the people left? Band parents I guess? I dunno...was strange to me. [/ QUOTE ] It was like like all last year. Either peopel were heading out early or they just sat there in the stands like they were lifeless. We had a 24-0 lead at VA High at halftime. The Bearcats came back and made it a 24-21 game and our fans were just sitting there like they did not care. I was pacing back and forth on top of the bleachers with a friend of mine. I guess some people just do not get into like some of us do.
  7. [ QUOTE ] I remember one time he got hit right as he passed the ball, took his helmet off while he was on the ground and crawled on all fours to the sidelines. [/ QUOTE ] I was there and I recall him crawling off the field. He took a heck of a lick.

  9. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I have to go with Marion again. They always have solid backs when they have nothing else. Just like last year they had the SWD leader and the third place rusher as well. [/ QUOTE ] I disagree, even though I'm a Canes fan. The Canes have a new coach and are planning to spread the ball out more and not run 95% of the time. I think some teams will be surprised at just how much things will change, could be challenging for opposing defenses. Graham with the huge line and solid backs will definitely be running the ball a majority of the time and have the backs and line to do it this year. [/ QUOTE ] I hope you are right. I saw in the Smyth County paper after Briscoe got the job and he stated that he was going to run the same thing as Wright always did and then I started hearing that he was planning to spread the ball out more. They may not have the leader but they will still have to run the ball some to make the passing attack work.
  10. He was only sentenced for 30 days. I do not see anything wrong with it myself.
  11. I have to go with Marion again. They always have solid backs when they have nothing else. Just like last year they had the SWD leader and the third place rusher as well.
  12. I know Marion and Richlands usually have around the same attendance, give or take a few. Marion had 800 last year. I also know Abingdon had 960 and Carroll had well over 1,000.
  13. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] my understanding is it got shot down because of TV, not UT. Something about CBS having rights to non-conf. SEC games, but part of the package was that Bruton would market it himself, which is why the pay-out was so high. CBS or SEC said no, so Bruton said forget it. [/ QUOTE ] Phat Phil wanted no part of VT... [/ QUOTE ] I usually agree with your posts but this one I do not. So you are going to sit there and think that Fulmer is afraid to play VT? I about fell out of the chair when I read that. Tennessee is a headliner when it comes to out of conference games. Look at the last several years. Cal the last two years, UCLA the next two, Notre Dame, Miami (when they were great), and Ohio State coming up in a few years from now. VT are the ones that up until this year have been afraid to play pwerhouse teams. I know they have Nebraska this year but we saw what happened against LSU. Tennessee lost to LSU by 7 and Tech lost by 41. It is the same story every year. You have to admit that the SEC is in a league of its own. Two years ago Georgia beat Tech in the Chik-Fil-A Bowl and Tennessee pounded them 51-33 the same year. Don`t get me wrong I think VT has an excellent program, just not good enough to hang with the top SEC schools. [/ QUOTE ] UT won't play VT on a neutral field. UT won't play VT in a 1-for-1 series. They want at least a 2-for-1. PhatPhil can't get everything he wants. If he wanted to play VT, he would have OK'd the neutral site game and/or the 1-for-1 series that VT offered a couple of years ago...but he didn't... [/ QUOTE ] OK maybe I over reacted slightly but it has to do with him wanting what he wants. It has nothing to do with him being "afraid" to play VT.

  15. Is Gonzalas the kid from Chilhowie? If so, he did return to Patrick Henry along with the kid who transferred to Texas two years ago.
  16. I voted Marion not because I`m from Marion but because their entire offensive and defensive line returns. They were pretty solid last year. Keep your on eye on the coach`s son, Michael Briscoe.
  17. Chilhowe plays Abingdon in a benefit game on 8/15 @ Chilhowie High School.
  18. You are right I can`t laugh at Ohio State for that. That is great they made it two years in a row. I pull for Tennessee and I can laugh because LSU beat us by a touchdown and blew you out. In 06, Florida beat us 21-20 and blew you out. Let Ohio State play the SEC schedule and see how many NC games they make.
  19. My bad, I looked at the schedule wrong. I meant to type Blacksburg for 9/6 instead of C-burg.
  20. Graham`s home schedule: 8/29 - Beaver (neutral) 9/6 - Christiansburg 9/19 - Richlands 9/27 - Gretna 10/3 - Grundy 10/24 - Abingdon
  21. I think it could be up for grabs this year. If I had to pick right now I would go with Graham. I know Richlands and Abingdon lost quite a bit. Marion will be ok but they lost their qb and rb. I don`t see them taking the district with a new qb. I believe Carroll County may surprise some people as well.
  22. [ QUOTE ] Buckeye fan [/ QUOTE ] You would still be witnessing a massacre. lol
  23. Check out www.highschoolsports.net This is a good site with schedules, scrimmages, etc.
  24. Smyth County`s Dixie baseball team won state last week. They play Florida later this week in Tennessee.
