The Coach tha A-Town has now is the one who interduced the Enter Sandman Ideal not the kids........ He has had free run of the program without any parents telling him how or what to do. Thats why u have seen a little change in the program over the past few years. I must agree with you that Abingdon needs a HARD CORE SWVA coach. the one at A-Town now is way to easy on them. He has got the #s up as a whole in the program from 8th grade thru varsity. Their practices need to be harder and longer with more intensity. After a few years of that then I beleive the program will be competive with those that rule SWVA as of now. Until then A-town will be plucked by those teams.

My hats off to the talent players that richlands has and the coaching staff. there is no two ways about it Abingdon got whipped and then some last night. The biggest thing I seen was that Abingdon got OUT COACHED. Yes Richlands has some really good players on both sides of the ball even speacial teams. Abingdon players were not prepared for ANYTHING Richlands had. You cant show up week n and week out and run the same plays on offense and the same Defense and not expect to get whipped sooner or later. Until the coaching staff starts to figure that out then it WILL be a VERY long season for them. I hate to say it......... There is talent at Abingdon not as much as Richlands has or other teams in SWVA. Anyone that was at this game I think would admit that they got OUT COACHED... Abingdons Defense needs to be revamped a 3-4 doesnt work play after play.............The offense needs to learn that short passes work better then long ones.... Agian my hats off to Richlands players and COACHING staff for there performance last night and would like to wish them the best the rest of the year!!!!!!!!!!

Does Richlands still have the transfers from WVA? If so what postions are they playing?

I think this game will be a good test for Abingdon also it should be a good test for Burton both teams will face a good Offsense. The poweer running game of Burtons and the spread of Abingdons w/Hess.It will test Abingdons defense and Burtons Defense. I have no ideal which team will win. Id like to c a great game and the best team win. It should be a good expereince for both teams. Yes Abingdon may not be that good and Burton May stomp them or it could be the other way around. Lets quit bashing teams until they play each other and then see which team was the better team.

Id be worried about those 1st 9 games who cares about beating a team if u have a bad season. I guess we c where ur focus is?????

Just for everyones info Abingdon will be young this year only 2 seniors on team with alot of youth on the bench.

Most of the kids A-Town has on the side lines are sophmores and freshman. Theres not alot of upper classman on the sidelines. I hope you are right that A-Town will be improving their record in the next few years.

In every article that I have read in the papers after this game it gets brought up about Grundys youth. I do agree that they are playing alot of youth my hats off to those kids that have stepped up and played there hearts out game after game. No one has stopped to look at the youth that A-Town is playing also, QB Sophmore, Two WRs Sophmores, 1 Sophmore O-Lineman, 2nd String RB Sophmore, Defensively; All Of secondary Sophmores except Safety, 3 LBs Sophmores, and 1 D-lineman Sophmore. This isnt asking for no pitty patty party but everyone here likes to BASH A-town with out knowing all the facts I do believe. No one from A-town has ever mentioned their youth till now and thats only because it was mentioned for another team. In my personnal opion A-Town and its youth has held their own against those teams with alot more experience. If turn overs didnt lead to points for Richlands that would have been a close game,as well as with tazewell. Good luck to all teams for the rest of the year whether you are young or old!!!!!!

Hows Honakers Defense?

We know abingdon has struggled against teams from SWD. I havent heard much about Honaker. So someone with info give us the low down on this game. Keep it real.

Just wondering who has the advantage this week between Abingdon and Richlands. Yes I know Richlands has been strong in the past and Abingdon has been weak. The game was close last year and both teams look totally different this year. This post isnt to start all out war or bad mouthing of either team. I think it will be a great game. MAy the best team win and may both teams and fans have a great game!!!!!! GOOD LUCK to BOTH TEAMS

The whole JB promlem started by the JV coaches taken 26 kids on the JV roster just to get the 8th graders on the team. These 8th graders have played together in little league for yrs. Look at how productive these boys were during their little league days and even this yr at junior league, then look at the older guys that didnt get to play. One of there DADS is a principle at a high school in the county. The other high schools in the county needed 8th graders to make a complete team but the rosters was less then 15. The 8th graders that played didnt help the jv team there was a lot of talent on the team that had been very productive in the yrs past, more productive then this yrs team. This just goes back to the problem that is going on in our local leagues DADDY BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I beleive we need to ask the coach why he needed 26 kids on the team????
