What I've heard from Central fans is the reason they want him gone for is because the jv team wins a lot and he can't win at the varsity level and that's from a few different people.

Back in my day Hurley used to rule Vansant, Harman, JM Bevins, Big Rock in little league. Then beat the hell outta Haysi, Honaker, Twin Valley in JV. But when you have one kid bigger, faster, stronger in those levels you win. That doesn’t Translate into high school (unless you have some ungodly talent like a jones or Johnson or Miller). The coach can’t have a fast kid run sweeps all night because the LB is 110lbs. Doesn’t work at that level.

And it's you guys that took my statement further than what it was intended... SMH Only thing I compared was the total of wins! Which in case could be great motivation for the youngs Dogs....  but you take it how ya want!

I've met great Richlands fans and terrible ones. Same for absolutely every school in SWVA.  Richlands is good, but a shell of their former self. But this is comparing Hurley as having the same record as Hampton. Doesn't really matter. I'm sorry friend.

I was Obviously joking but I can see it went completely over your head.

Wouldnt expect much though since Grundy has no chance to beat out honaker for the playoffs right?

Hey I said 50/50. I'm surprised by Grundy big play ability tonight. I was wrong about that. I'll eat crow. But I was joking as well. Just friendly UVA/VT banter.

Observer VT has played 2 outta 3 air raid teams. Just the nature of the game

Grundy could/should be 3-0 vs. 3 2A teams. The Golden Wave aren't bad and in my opinion, will win the BDD. But, that's why they play the games.

I'll agree on the BDD. Only 50/50 against Honaker with lack of CB play, Honaker can air it out. They just lack the big play playmaker. Will become difficult IMO. I wish them the best, truly do. Lord knows Hurley isn't going anywhere.

The other question I have is.  Why would Richlands even schedule a 4A school.  I can understand scheduling a 3A cause of points.  But to try and jump 2 levels just doesn't make sense.

Nothing against the Blues. But maybe Mance wants more than 1 title? Whooping everyone West of Roanoke (usually)is one thing but competition isn't exactly great outside of Union and Graham of late. And Abingdon occasionally.

Honakers red clay field was bull$#!t

if you think JIBs field was nice then you obviously never set foot on the field at Ralph Cummins Stadium. Incredible grass field.

There wasn't anything particularly terrible about ervintons field other that the home side sideline was only 118 yards long, at the corner of the end zone on the home side going toward the hill the field actually went up hill lol

You're correct. Never played at Cummings. My favorite thing about burton was the short grass and flat field. Felt like you were flat scootin on it. Another terrible field was Matewan. They had that "fish twine" interlocked sod. When It was muddy you'd actually dig down to the twine and get wrapped in it.

My mother in law had Ray in class during her days at Garden High and told us that one time Ray was driving home after practice in a hurry to catch a game on tv. During this time apparently somewhere along the way his wife's car had broken down and she was walking to the nearest house to call someone to come help. In his hurry to get home he drove right passed her and went home to watch the game.

I've had an opportunity to meet many sports people over the years. Ray was hands down the most unique of all. Guy could design a defense to stop the power I offensives of the day. With that in regard, had the oddest demeanor towards people I'd ever seen.

  8. Crazy as this sounds. East ridge ky was my favorite to play at besides The Cliff. At that time the facilities were brand new.

In terms of sight lines Mitchell by far.

Most intimidating as a fan or player was Big Creek. Go to hell you owl with the hollow eyes.

Best playing surface (before high schools had turf) was JI Burton.

Crappiest playing surface was the old Honaker red clay field.

Hands down my favorite place to catch a game was Hunnicut in Princeton. Fantastic facility.

  9. No, not the case. I'm disengaging because of you social ignorance. Maybe the war started over slavery on the national level. But you're too ignorant to understand that your average confederate fought for states rights. And the fact stays the same as I stated before. So it's pointless because you're a libtard that's more than likely butt hurt because Trump won. DROP MIC

  10. Taking a knee is his constitutional right (not American flag right) (don't agree) it's not a false analogy dude. Where is the redeeming principles of what the u.s. Did? Land reservations and casinos? You're an idiot for thinking otherwise. Now take your uneducated ass somewhere else.

  11. One question.. food for thought, the Stars and Stripes flew right after the civil war to commit near genocide on native Americans. Come on people, realize the educational system is rigged and teaches us, and points us in the direction it pleases. American flag has been flown in times that are just as bad as the confederate.
