  1. Ans it's ppl like you that make me despise UVA lol... UVA has a decent team in nearly a decade and all of a sudden they can't be blown out. Either tech plays like crap and wins barely or they blow them out lol
  2. VT with the much better D and you say no way Tech will beat them by double digets, but yet UVA will be Tech by double digets. Tech with a 3 TD+ victory is my final prediction. lol Uva finally has a decent season and you all of a sudden having them beat the number 5 in the nation by double digets lol.... OKKKKKK
  3. I just finished the game. But I have no sense of what the ending meant. Can anyone help to shed any light?
  4. And your not getting the point. Between 5 scorers 3 of the will get 1,000 points. And prob four by the time Peck is through. Its not like just one player. Not just one of the shoots the Lights out of it every game. They share the wealth. And another thing, you think competition was stronger in the 50's and 60's? Your sadly Mistaking. There was no structured defenses then. If you were 6'4 and had some sort of athletic ability then there was no reason to score 25 points a night. There my have no been a three line, but there was no need in one with the style played in that era. Today's game is structured offense and defense.
  5. Not sure how many of you have seen this, or remember this game. Jones rushed for a state record 465 yards and Sensabaugh finished with over 300 yards. The ironic part of this, Burton had a team that very well could have brought home a title, but was doomed by the Appalachia and PV jaugernaught of the 90's. Thomas as everyone knows, went on to virginia and a nice Nfl career. Boo, went to west virginia as a defensive back and had a nice little career up there as well.
  6. Homecoming head shave at Hurley every year. Plus painting of the rock on rockhouse mountain is pretty cool.
  7. I'm very aware of the rivalery between these two schools. But they are just kids, let them go out and leave it all on the field. You can't say one kid us all they got to do this or cover that. They all make "ONE" team. Good luck to both schools. My prediction is either team by 7, comes down to coaching. Which coach is more willing to take the risks when needed.
  8. George wyth, Honaker, and Radford are D-2. Which I still don't think Hurley would have any problem what so ever holding their own with. And I assure you, Honaker and Twin Valley are not the best in the BDD. Hurley "should" be the favorite to win Region D once again. And Gman, the basketball thread is Open during the off season, so you can lay off with the butt head remarks :)
  9. Bearing no injuries it will come down to one of hurleys 3, waynick, A. Cooper, or berglowe
  10. Statistic wise I would say without a doubt he is one of the better if not best in Hurley history. But at the same time he has had a 6'8 receiver to throw to. In quaterback best at the school I am going to go (no particular order) Mark Hackney, Adam Blankenship, Isaac Stacy, Austin Cooper.
  11. Hurley's list of great players. Most of them from the "glory years". No particular order. Greg Justus "still holds the state record for points scored in game. 58 David Davis "all state and went on to a brilliant career at Emory. John potter "all state, played college at ferum. Greg tester "all state, would have gained over 2000 yards in 10 games but a injury at richlands stopped that, but went on and got it in the playoffs. Greg rexroad "man amongst boys" Ledford Gibson "one of the main reasons fir David davis's stellar career. Shane Justice "over 3000 yards in career in only 3 seasons, 1700 coming in his senior season guiding Hurley to back to back playoffs and 8-2 record.
  12. If I'm not mistaken Haysi has 3 or 4 floors at their high school.
  13. Copenhaver in my opinion paved the way as a receiver for Tommy Crigger, and once he became a quaterback he had all the intangables. Id say his most valuable asset would have been his ability to make a play out of anything.
  14. There would be no way you could have that list with no Jason Copenhaver?
  15. Who are the schools around Salem? The ones I know is salem, Patrick Henrey, and Cave Spring.
  16. How can you not even consider ACDC????? They came with a rock that no one had ever even attempted. Highway to Hell was the most out rageous either make you or break you album of that time. No one even considered naming something like that then. In the late fifeties it was uncalled for the see Elvis shake his hips and not even a decade later ACDC is starting a rock sound that in a few short years would brind songs about a highway to hell, night prowler, high voltage rock and roll. They to me made the biggest step in rock and roll with their Highway to Hell album. That album to me is more of a success than Back in Black.
  17. Sometimes when I or someone quotes me in a respones to something I have posted I miss it because its a few threads back in the discussion. I think if there is anyway to recieve a notifiction to when someone has responed to a specific thing you said would be great.
  18. 250 jobs is what has been said including the smaller stores along the site.
  19. Byrd has an Enrollment around 1,200, Hurley has an enrollment of around 200. Might as well be 3A lol
  20. Radford has a great coaching staff, by midseason they should be rolling.
  21. From what I have been told Hurley done pretty well in the camp. Went 7-2 with loses comming against William Bryd (AAA) and Christiansburg(AA) (T. Cooper left game early do to injury). Beating impressive teams such as Liberty Bedford and beating Radford by 20+
