The Richlands game may have been a loss either way but the Abingdon game wasn't turnovers due to desperation. That one in my opinion would have come down to the end if not for all the fumbles.

Without turnovers the last two games would have been much closer with even a chance to have won one of them.

A lot of the high schools around here have better seating than UVA Wise.

I've always said having Richlands at week one is bad for Gate City. That game needs to be late in the season.

I think most are saying Union will win the district.

I see them rotating some.

I was thinking Gretna was at Mitchell twice. One playoff game and one regular season game. Playoff was 03 or 04? Regular season 08?

I used to love going to VA High for the jamboree they would hold. I think it was $5 and teams started playing around 11 that morning and lasted until after dark. Several teams would show up and you would get to see two varsity quarters and one JV quarter per matchup.

Looks like it may be another classic against Richlands. Think I will keep Union at number one in my top ten prediction.

What do they return besides Mitchell? I was under the impression they returned the most of all the teams in SWVA but after glancing at the poll posts I am thinking I need to change my predictions.

This does seem true. Gate City numbers are low from little league through High School. The little league has four teams. Rams, Redskins, Colts, and Packers. Each team has a varsity and junior varsity. Only the Packers has a full JV and varsity team. Not 100% on what the Colts may be lacking. The Rams have around 8 on Varsity and 13 or so on JV. The Redskins have about 6 on varsity and 13 or 14 on JV. This causes some of the kids on JV to play two games in one night. I think the Packers had about 15 on JV and I counted 19 on varsity. Really need to figure something out to get the numbers up in little league. I really think that's where it needs to start. Get those numbers up and we may see improvement at the high school level.
