If Giles is the least bit physical they will run all over Graham. Hope the G-Men come out to play football and leave all the smack talk and bs somewhere else.

My thoughts on that good old fashioned butt whooping:
1- Graham isn't nearly as big, fast and strong as Richlands. G-Men looked scared to death out there except for #17 and #29...both of whom are transfers to GHS.
2- Graham's corners and safeties got burned all night...hope they had some aloe in the locker room because they need it. They could not handle Richlands recievers or tackle in the open field. Hope Palmer addresses this in the off week.
3- Both the O-line & D-line for Graham got manhandled. No words to describe how bad that was.
4- As a Graham fan it bothered me that Palmer left in the starters when Mance called off the dogs in the 4th qtr. and put in his subs. Then Richlands subs put a beat down on Grahams starters.
5- Graham has a ton of work to do...I saw them afraid and saw them quit last night. Very disappointing.
6- As for the taunting at midfield...I was surprised by this since Tazewell did the same thing to us the previous week. Obviously the G-Men didn't learn anything by that.
7- Several times last night Graham couldn't get enough players on the field on special teams. We punted once with only 10 players out there. Do they even practice special teams??

This Graham team is very much improved...just not sure they can handle a big strong offensive line yet. I do know that Coach Palmer will have them ready and he and his staff do a good job making adjustments when they need to. Can't wait to see what happens Friday night!
-
Unless the G-Men find a fix for the D-Line getting pushed around this one won't be close. Tazewell pushed Graham's defense all over the field but couldn't finish...Richlands will know how to finish drives. I do have confidence in Coach Palmer to make the defensive line better, just don't think they can stop Richlands.

Well...Tazewell planting that flag and taunting the G-Men at the beginning of the game didn't work out to well for them...lol

I've heard good things about him as well...just hope the o-line can keep the defense off him long enough to get a hand off.
-
Heard surg was good...couple of pins and a rod. Prayers for the young man to recover fully.
I'm gonna have to rethink my earlier prediction of Graham beating Bluefield...From what I'm hearing the G-Men looked awful. No line blocking and still not tackling?
-
I'm curious to see if Graham is tackling better this year. IMO, that has been their downfall in previous years. I'm thinking this years Graham/Beaver game will be a close game. Hopefully the G-Men come out on top. I know Coach Palmer will have them ready to play.

Only game I know of is Graham at Grundy on Labor Day.
-
Graham got their first win last week against Bland but since has been hammered by Marion, Ft Chiswell, and Tazewell...hear their HC is done after this year...about time!
-
Richlands 12
Graham 3...I think this was the final??
-
Nothing will change at Graham until they get a coach who can put in the time to do more in the off season...lost again to Narrows 13-11.
-
Run ruled by Bland 11-1...smh
-
To answer your questions: Yes they are that bad. They give an effort until the first error is made. Players care, coaches do not.
Nothing goes on in the off season to get better...Their coach is more involved in other sports/activities and doesn't appear to be committed to baseball like most baseball coaches are. Too many of the kids just do not know how the game is played. Graham looks like they are playing wiffle ball in the back yard. Coaches either aren't teaching them fundamentals and how to play, or the players just don't do it come game time. Either way it's bad. There is talent out there...just not being used correctly IMO.
-
Graham dropped a double header to Galax Tuesday and then got thumped by Narrows Wed 16-2.

It's a pretty big baseball tourny held at Bowen Field in Bluefield every year. Lot's of area high schools from VA & WV play in it.
