Oh please.  There are 16 schools in A-ball that are bigger than Honaker. 
 
Here are the larger A-ball teams in our half of the state:

(2) George Wythe - 451
(3) Chilhowie - 446
(4) Central - 445
(5) Radford - 442
(6) Eastside - 441
(7) Patrick Henry - 405
(8) Galax - 381
(9) Honaker - 379
 
I commend Hurley for fielding a competitive team with a school the size of Richlands's graduating class.  But it is what it is, and the whining is pathetic.

If Hurley fans are that upset about the "size difference", I'd respectfully suggest that Hurley petition to play in 0A ball.

Out of the teams Honaker has played Lebanon and Battle are larger, Eastside is about the same size and Central is almost twice their size.
 
Of the teams left on Honakers schedule Haysi is a little smaller, Grundy is a little larger.
 
Twin Valley, Hurley and Castlewood are the only schools smaller.

Haven't played a good team yet? I'd think that unbeaten and perennial power Honaker would qualify as a good team

Here's my take on the game as a outsider just picked this game to go watch. After first watching Both teams warm up union looked to have way more talent and twice as many players dressed out. union did have 5 to 7 very quick kids so I said damn I should have went to gate city as it looked like clintwood would be beaten by at least 4 tds. Union went up 2 tds and seemed to be cruising then the hard hits by the wave and fatigue started wearing on the home team (not trying to piss anyone off from union or clintwood) but clintwoods second qb no.7 that started the second half was a lot better and seemed to spark the offense if he starts the game clintwood wins in a close one. my opinion clintwood is in better physical shape but union has a lot more talent.
