  1. Graham comes out in the yellow ... I just get that sinking feeling! 😉 I have issues! 😅🤣😂
  2. I am right there with you in that one! I really wanted to see the gun-metal gray tonight.
  3. Arrived from Roanoke around noon. I am over at my parent's house in South Bluefield. Rained ... steady... here for about 30 minutes around 2:30! Now it appears to be clearing. 🤞🤞🤞 #GrahamPride
  4. I know! However, I am glad to see a Princeton Tiger fan here!
  5. 7:00 Mitchell Stadium Bluefield getting a nice rain shower right now ... come prepared!
  6. Graham's SCHOOL (Academics) colors are the original maroon and grey. With the Carlock era came Graham's ATHLETIC colors of the Cardinal and Collegiate Gold. Go G-Men!
  7. I talked to Cheryl Ellis today ... she is the Facebook lady. She told me that Appomattox was waiting impatiently for the arrival of ... in her words ... "the DEFENDING STATE CHAMPS!" I told her to be careful for what you wish for ... 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 She is very appreciative of all the support she received in raising the funds for the livestream. She is a class act! Appomattox County has much respect for the Graham football program. The Raider fans ... like most of us ... were wanting this matchup last year. Finally, this long awaited game is one day away. 🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈 ♥️💛♥️💛♥️ 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 #grahampride #finalfour #vhsl
  8. I talked to Cheryl Ellis earlier today ... she is the Facebook lady! She said Appomattox is waiting impatiently for the arrival of the G-Men! I told her to be careful for what you wish for. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 ♥️💛♥️💛♥️ She is a great Appomattox Raider football fan. She is so appreciative of the contributions made for the livestream. Class act for sure! #grahamgmen #finalfour #vhsl
  9. GRAHAM G-MEN ... 2019 REGION D2 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS! #finalfour #vhsl #grahampride
  10. Thanks! I now remember that Appy and/or Jonesville was 5-5 but pulled it all out in the end! I was always a fan of those far southwest Virginia teams!
  11. Am I correct in thinking ... Appalachia's only loss was to Powell Valley that year?
  12. Blacksburg D4 Graham D3 Powell Valley D2 Jonesville D1 1989 ... it was a great year for southwest Virginia football. All won State Championships in their respective divisions. I believe it was the last year of existence for Jonesville. Graham defeated Blacksburg in the regular season. Graham's only loss was @ Salem but Graham returned the favor on Salem in 1990.
  13. Graham lost to Bluefield and Union @ Mitchell Stadium during the regular season. One thing some may not know ... Graham and Bluefield alternate each year as the designated home team. Every other year one team (home team) occupies the home side of the stadium which is the press box side. This year Bluefield was the home team ... and Beaver fans occupied the home side. Next year, Graham fans will occupy the home side while Bluefield fans will sit on the visitor's side. Every other year is a home and visitor rotation. Kinda cool!
  14. Interestingly ... I also watched that YouTube replay last week. I was there in attendance in 1989 ... great memories! After watching ... including numerous times before ... I had that gut feeling that Graham would roll into Big Stone Gap and wallop Union! Therefore, I drove 3.5 hours to witness the game and I'm sure glad that I did. Chalk it up to ... #grahampride
  15. With all due respect ... When you are wearing thin from other Graham fans it is time to stop!
  16. I am with you my friend ... on the same page! Not directed to you ... but others. 😉
  17. I am not in agreement with some that think Graham has a weak schedule. No doubt, Graham MUST play all other Southwest district schools. No school can control this aspect of their schedule. Additionally, no one can determine or control which district school is going to have a good year ... mediocre year ... or a disappointing year. Graham's non-district schedule includes Bluefield WV ... Union ... Giles ... Princeton WV ... and Fort Chiswell. Bluefield and Union speak for themselves. Giles is usually a playoff contender but had a disappointing year. Princeton is a West Virginia AAA school that has had some tough years in the past. However, Princeton is a 10-15 minute drive from Bluefield. Graham and Princeton geographically are a nice fit and the schools have rekindled a nice little rivalry in basketball. Fort Chiswell has been up and down in the past few years. The Pioneers are the only Class 2 carry over from Graham's presence in the Mountain Empire district. I know playoff seedings are determined by power points. Graham determined their 3 seed by losing to Union in the regular season. Had Graham defeated Union earlier in the year, the G-Men would have finished the regular season at 9-1. That would have secured at least a #2 ... maybe #1 ... seed during the playoffs. Had Graham had either of these seeds ... the weak schedule conversation would have been non-existence. Just my thoughts ... let the results silence the critics. #grahampride
  18. If Graham stays focused ... 1 game at a time ... Graham will be just fine! That 3.5 hour trip back to Roanoke last night was sweeeet! #grahampride
  19. Bingo! That post ... in all its stupidity ... was the only one that really struck a nerve with me all week long! Initially, I ignored it ... electing not to get on that level ... but this morning I could not let it ride! 😉 #grahampride
