Anybody got score from Hurley & Grundy ?????

This should be Hurley's biggest test of the season, and a big test for Grundy too. Hurley is tough to beat at home, so I'll go with the Rebels by 7.

This Chilhowie vs VHS will be Chilhowie's biggest test of the season. In order for Chilhowie To be competitive, they will have to play defense, and tackle well. VHS has some very good Athletes,and so does Chilhowie, but Chilhowie had better bring their A game to this one, and Not sleep on VHS . If Chilhowie doesn't show up, it could get ugly fast.

When PV, Appy, Wise, Pound, St Paul and Coeburn consolidated that took several schools Out of A1, which makes it that much harder for some A1 schools to schedule A1 schools. Eastside still may schedule A1, but Ridgeview and Central are going after A2 schools to Play. As more schools consolidate, the problem for A1 schools that remain in SWVA will Only get tougher.

Thevols, you are right in that Coach Palmer has done an excellent job at Patrick Henry. His leadership of his team though that horrible tragedy was telling as to His quality of character and dignity. One never knows how kids will deal with the unexpected. Patrick Henry had a very Good year last year, and are doing very well this year so far. The game between PH and Rural Retreat should be a good one. I remember some of the Games when Coach Rhea was at RR, and those games was a war, with no love lost between Either school. It was knock down and drag out with both squads, and if memory serves Me right, a few fist flew from time to time when these two teams got together. RR will be PH's best test of the season so far. Humphrey and Co. will need to have a good Game. RR probably is still running that veer offense, which is hard to stop. Expect A lot of points in this one. I'll guess 40 to 38 PH.

Patrick Henry is having a good year, and so is Hurley. Glad to see these teams do Well in the early season. The meat of their schedules is in the next month, just like Most schools. It is good to see schools not known for traditional success have a good year. I have A special place in my heart for PH.PH lost a player a couple of years ago when the Young man was killed by his father. What a tragedy for any team to deal with. This will be an interesting match up. Virginia High is 2-2 with wins over John Battle And Tazewell, and losses to Tennessee High and Richlands. Chilhowie has won 4 straight Since their season opener loss at Marion. Chilhowie has wins over Tazewell, Twin Springs, JI Burton, and Northwood. Virginia High has played the toughest schedule. Virginia beat Tazewell 42-35, Chilhowie beat Tazewell 60-48. The VHSL rating scale has Virginia at 11th in A2. Chilhowie is 5Th in the A1 division. Virginia has won the last 4 in this series. Chilhowie can score points with a high Power offense, and has a chance to win this match up if they show up to play up to Their potential. Virginia is always hard to predict. This one may go into OT.

No doubt Tazewell can score, and they have a great Offense. Sure their Defense is weak, But Tazewell is not a bad ball club. Marion has a good squad also, but it depends on Which Marion club shows up. Marion lost to Rural Retreat, and Tazewell beat Rural Retreat. Both squads together score over 120, and the last one with ball wins !!!

WOW, want a Offensive shoot out! Chilhowie came ready to play in this one when they Ran onto the field.The Warriors showed up to play, and so did Tazewell. That was One heck of a Football game. It was like 2 prize fighter squaring off for 12 rounds. One would go down, and get back up to be hit again. The Chilhowie fans knew Chilhowie had the talent to win games like this one, It was just getting them in the right frame of mind. Tazewell has a good team. That QB and RB is two of the best combos I have seen This year. Harris is the quickest RB in SWVA! In my opinion, there were no losers Tonight in Tazewell. Hold you heads up high, both Warriors and Dawgs.

Sixcat said A1 Champ Galax had suspensions and players quit. I hate to here this, But hopefully Coach Dixon has restored order. Was this something recently, or weeks Ago? Something of this nature is big when it happens to our defending State Champ.

Giles is 2 or 3 times as large compared to Narrows. Narrows is the little guy in this Game, and I love to see the underdog little guy play well or get lucky and knock off the Larger school. Narrows will have to play a error free game, but Giles will be very tough To beat. The odds are in favor of Giles, but this is one year Narrows does have a chance Of winning.

UVAOb, I agree Tazewell/Chilhowie should be a very good game, and very competitive. But Chilhowie will have to be in the right frame of mind, or Harris will have 300 yards and 5TD's. Both teams have the talent to play a good game.Team with the fewest mistakes wins.

Don't let the Canes lose to George Wythe last week fool you. GW will beat most teams in SWVA. Marion has the talent, and still young, and very well Coached. They can play the game. Rural Retreat is always very competitive. They played Galax very tough last week and is always A good game when they are on your schedule. But Marion has some pay back for last year tonight.

I agree with warrioruva, Chilhowie is known not to show up in some games they can Compete in. Not sure what the problem is, but the fans agree you never no which Team will run onto the field. They have the talent to win, but sometimes you wonder About the desire.

Ridgeview is the most impressive High School in SWVA in my opinion. I worry about The economy in that area, and it's impact on the ability to pay for the school, And for the labor force to stay employed and keep folks from moving out of the County to find work. A very serious situation for Dickenson County residents And the County government.

Tazewell is coming off a win over Grayson Co, with loses to VA High and Graham. Chilhowie has won 2, JIB and Twin Springs, and got blitzed by Marion in game 1. Tazewell has played the toughest schedule Tazewell is 2A, Chilhowie is still Rebuilding in 1A. I don't think Chilhowie will be able to control Harris. Dawgs by at least 2 TD's.
