  1. What Schools have a much smaller enrollement than Honaker that they play? Twin Valley, Hurley, and Haysi a few less, Lebanon, Clintwood, John Battle, Wise Central, Grundy? Honaker is a small school that plays a fair scheldule
  2. Lets go Haysi, pulling for y'all from the other side of Big A
  3. Good luck Haysi glad you all get to host at home you earned it. I know you all will represent the west and BDD well. Pulling for y'all all the way to Salem, Go RED.
  4. I hope Bowen is well and at his best come Saturday, if he is I think Haysi comes away with the win in a shootout. Peoples wont be stopped but he can be slowed. Haysi has a stingy d and an explosive offense. Red 41 Maroon 35
  5. Looks like Covington is the mystery team, but their record speaks for itself, you don't get into the playoffs and advance unless you are a solid team. Honaker seems to have gotten focused after the beat down they took at Sandlick and I think will go back to what they do best, control the tempo, long time consuming drives, and hard nosed defense. Tigers 31 Cougars 21
  6. Congrats Haysi you dominated the game from the first kickoff. My orange tigers seemed flat and the red tigers brought it. Good luck in the playoffs to both teams they may meet again this season,
  7. Going to be another classic Friday night in Sandlick, I can hardly wait. Going with my Orange Tigers 28-14 in a hard hitting game that will be close till the last qtr. As for Fort Chiswell when and if the time comes, Red Tigers or Orange Tigers will play them well.
  8. Someone had a post started on here, but looks like it is lost, so here's another. I think this is gonna be a great game with two undefeated teams. Going to go with my heart and pick the Tigers. Defense slows down the Battle explosive offense 31-28
  9. Could someone give directions to Eastsides field? Thanks
  10. Congradulations GW, great game for both teams, hard fought contest with two teams that worked hard to get there. Proud of the Tigers they just came up a little short and Maroon stepped up and got the win. Im glad the championship stays in SW Va. Two top teams with class represented western Va. well
  11. Well this game is over, and I agree not much class. Like I said before Honaker is very disciplened, they had some calls that hurt also but committed fewer penelities (part of the game) Sussex lost control and played frustrated the 2nd half and that is what happens when you do, no doubt the PF call on Honakers punt helped Honaker but that is how it goes.
  12. G W has played great on the road these last games and I think that gives them a little advantage coming in, but Honaker really played a confidence booster Sat. so this is gonna be a great game. I dont think G W will keep the tigers out of the end zone for at least 3 scores, and the Tigers have forced turnovers all year and will need them here. The burden will fall on the Tiger D and it will be a challenge against this strong agressive team but they are capable, if the Moroon offense gets hot could be a long ride back to Russell Co. Tigers 21 Moroons 14
  13. I agree Honaker is a well disiplened team, never paniced just kept executing and the other Tigers began to get frustrated and make mistakes. I was very impressed with the way they handled the pressure.
  14. Still got a chance to see one more game Lance, hope yall will get to come to Salem next Sat
  15. Thanks countryboy I think Honaker will win this Saturday, and not only am I a Honaker Tiger this Sat. I am also a GW Maroon, and a John Battle Trojan, Bring it home Southwest Va.
  16. That is good to hear, I was going by what coach Hubbard quoted in the BHC after the game. Glad he is gonna be able to play and at 95% he will still be very effective as the whole team will be Sat.
  17. He was hurt in the 1st quarter, I hear a hip pointer, but word is he will play, if he is 100 per cent I think he will be very effective.
  18. I think most of your old guard will be back and I think Battle may be in the mix, winning begats winning, Lebanon is a young team and I think will be tough next year, I dont know how many Eastside graduates but I think they may be on their way.
  19. Battles season aint over yet, still got a lot of football to play in 2012, and its hard to say guess thats why it is a surprise, but always seems to be a spoiler. GO BATTLE
  20. Im pretty sure its at 1, if not somebody correct me
  21. Id say be there by 12 should be ok but any later probably have to walk a good distance to Fuller Field. You can also go up by the Elementary school and get tickets there and drive down to the field from there or if energetic you can also park at the elementary school and walk down. Supposed to be temps around 60s, WHOOOHOOOO GO ORANGE.
  22. Thanks everyone, if you can come on out Sat. and try some of our hotdogs and watch some good ole smash mouth football. Good luck to GW on your trip out hopefully this can be another SW Va state rematch. Good luck to Battle also.
  23. Would love to see a Clintwood Honaker State Championship game, but both teams have got to take care of bussiness first, two wins and they are there.
