With all the talk about Akers at Gate City, sometimes you don't know if it's fussing from down years or actually faults of the coaching. What you rhave to keep in mind is if it's from one or two families or even three more than likely it's minor. A whole community now that's different. Now sometimes it takes a while to see and judge. What you don't want is such a delay like coach Hale when at Carroll(should have been relieved long ago but coached around 14yrs at that school). He then was hired at Fort by a close friend. Luckily It worked out for Fort and he stepped down after one year but still feeling the effects. Unfortunately for Fort they have an Off. coordinator -Meredith- who is exactly the same mold but way worse all the way around. If there long he will leave another mark.

Problem is when it gets down sometimes it takes a while to build back. Plus that area is bad for players jumping to different schools. You probably already know this though. How are the kids liking the new coach?

I talked to a long time Gaty City alum/fan former parent of player today. Sounded like to him things are so bad with Akers that any type of reconciliation is impossible. Akers had a good second year at Rural Retreat. Parent was telling me he didn't Akers could survive for a 3rd year. . .

Floyd had about 210 yas of offense against fort, probably 120 in fourth quarter. Fort's def is very good. I see Giles wearing them down. If fort had an new offensive coordinator that game would have been much different. His split veer stinks but that is all he knows how to run. Floyd has a good d also

Should be a good game. Marion has a better offense than fort but their defense is not as good. The GW-fort game could of easily of been 17-0 Fort. GW 27 Marion 21.

GW has 10-11 seniors that are very good players, something that EVERY 1A school in the west doesn't have. You have a couple more seniors that I'm not sure about. The other schools in the west don't have those 10-11 seniors. There are some schools that have 14-17 seniors but only 2-3 could compete with those 10-11 you have athletically. Just the way it is. Coaching has to make a difference.

Example-When you havea team that is kicking a FG with only 10 players on the field and you call timeout and you still send 10 back out. You make the the FG but u have delay game.
