  1. My grandpa would have gotten the death penalty...he used to whoop my hiney with a tobacco stick...and it was usually deserved on my part.
  2. I hope he stays. He is a pretty decent coach. He just needs some time...
  3. Well then, I hope you do not show up for the game.
  4. Everything...THS should just not show up. Seriously...I hope VHS can stay within 4 scores.
  5. Just holding back the "good stuff" for you guys!?!
  6. Maybe he was given the option of resigning in lieu of termination?
  7. "Make sure your worst enemy is not living between your ears. Insecurity kills". So keep on telling yourself that you are the "man". I liked the 4 Horsemen.too. But much like your illusions of grandeur, wrestling is entertaining but not real. Pity. Oh, by the way, you jump first and then I'll go...
  8. Would I like to play? Yes! Yes I would! Since it only takes about 30 minutes to fertilize an egg, maybe the "milkman" or "pool boy" stayed a little longer at the old UVAO household about 11 months ago? I feel very confident that the assertion that you lack functional knowledge pertaining to procreation is accurate. Hope your pre-nup included DNA tests, Jethro. It seems that you have adopted the tactic of "if I repeat it enough, it must be true"... That might work for George Costanza but you my friend are no George Costanza!. Knowing that lawyers score very low on the Caliper HR test in the self-esteem category, I will do my best to refrain from pointing out that you exhibit classic signs of an inferiority complex. Oops, sorry. I guess I should also avoid upsetting you further by not acquiescing to your inane self promotion. Okay...you are a big deal (even if only in your own mind). Feel better? Oh by the way, did not Clubber Lang end up on the wrong side of a significant beating? Hmmm... I much more prefer Clint Eastwood, a true word smith, when his character Gunny Highway, retorted to an annoying, self important bore, "You are beginning to bore the h#$% out of me".
  9. I learned five things from this post. One, you missed the sex ed. class. Two, you have no real world experience so the sex ed. class would have done you no good anyway. Three, you are still as clueless as you proved in the Hobby Lobby thread. Four, you have very thin skin. Five, your opinion of yourself is too high. If you do not like it, just ignore it. I suggest that you ignore it because you cannot tell that I am trolling the troll. Just another lawyer to burden the world.
  10. LOL spacing...give me a break. No wonder UVA fans/alumni have such bad reps.
  11. By seasons end, I believe the Bearcats will be better than last year's team. I think they have enough offensive weapons to hold off an improved Bulldog squad...but I have been incorrect before. Being the first game for VHS and on the road, they may have to overcome a learning curve. I think they win in a good, close game and this springboards them on to a very good season.
  12. I would not be surprised to see VT try to schedule Graham...
  13. Unless you count the middle school kids who are now freshmen at the high school, VHS doesn't have 26 transfers. C'mon man!
  14. Wise decision on his part...if he has aspirations of playing beyond HS. Nothing against Honaker but VHS has a very good track record of getting their players to the next level.
  15. UVAO...you are clear that conception can occur as quickly as 30 minutes...not strictly 2-5 days as you previously espoused? Just want to be clear since we are addressing "incorrect terminology".
  16. My fundamental understanding of conception is pretty solid. I think you may want to do a little research on the matter before making comments that are just not accurate. According to the OB/GYN National Association website: The fastest an egg can get to a fallopian tube is about 30 minutes, meaning that the quickest conception could occur following sex is in the half-hour range if an egg is present. So, following sex, the egg could be fertilized before you get out of bed to grab a drink of water or light up a smoke. Not sure why you insist that it takes 2-5 days for the sperm to get to the egg. Maybe your "boys" aren't Michael Phelps but... Conception CAN occur five days or longer after sex, depending on the release of an egg. Five days is about the max sperm can survive in the fallopian tube waiting on an egg. BUT, my friend, if an egg is already in the tube, 30 minutes is a possibility. I guess your definition of emergency is different than mine. And those four pills can cause a fertilized egg to be aborted. That is a fact. That is one of the reasons for this decision.
  17. What this decision eliminated from coverage were the four "morning after " drugs...basically abortion pills. Other contraception is still included. But, I still do not believe that any employer should pay for an employees contraception. What is next...paying for other people's kids to go to college? Or maybe bailing out failed companies? Or paying for other people's insurance? Or paying for cell phones for other people? Or...
  18. Since districts do not really matter anymore, does it really matter who plays in what district? I am not sure this is correct but was recently told that there is not a penalty anymore for not playing your district teams so ADs can schedule any team they want. Conference affiliation is the biggee now. Stuarts Draft, Wilson Memorial and Riverheads are very close to each other and in close proximity to I-81. Funny how Draft and WM remain over 700+ while Riverheads drops at the beginning of the new alignment cycle to 1A. Hmmm....state titles in 1A but nothing in 2A.... I doubt Phoebus rules 3A...the same ting was said about VHS baseball when they dropped to the old "A" from "AA" . Richlnads was also penciled in as football state champs when they dropped. Same thing for R.E. Lee in basketball when they dropped down. Just doesn't seem to pan out when these powerhouses in one classification drop down. Even though VHS won the state in baseball this year, it is their only real post season run since dropping down...and I think this years team would have won in 3A and 4A as well.
  19. Personal responsibility is basically a thing of the past I guess. Why should any employer pay for anybody's contraception? The "pill prescription" costs like $9 per month and prophylactics are about the same. Do like my generation did...either buy your own or don't do it.
  20. Being active in something (sports or otherwise) is the main thing at any early age. Personal preferences will decide what sport/activity is continued...not some old f&^% like me on a message board or some talking head on TV.
  21. Appreciate the input...still don't get it though. God bless those who do. But I would disagree about the youth leagues...kids have to learn that some people are just more talented. They also need to learn that hard work trumps talent. And more importantly, not everybody gets a trophy in the real world.
  22. Still no answers to the following...(Not trying to start anything...just trying to understand...) Why is it okay to run like your hair is on fire, drawing all the attention to yourself, after a goal is scored? Why do the players feign injuries, at seemingly the lightest of contact, only to return moments later? Why do the youth leagues (at least in my area) go to great lengths to inhibit individual success at the youth level? Why call soccer the total team sport when every goal, every fake injury is an attempt at garnering individual attention? I don't personally know anyone who is angered by Tiger, LeBron, Jordan, Brady, Manning, Pujols or Trout being hailed for their accomplishments. Our whole system used to be one of allowing persons the OPPORTUNITY to excel and succeed. It has only relatively recently started harboring ill feelings/envy toward those who have succeeded. We used to look at the big house on the hill and aspire to EARN one for yourself. Now, the mentality seems to be swaying to "I want THAT big house and want someone to GIVE it to me". This entitlement society that is developing is vastly concerning to me. Off the soap box now...
  23. Ann Coulter represents one person, Ann Coulter. Just like the rest of us, she is entitled to her opinion. I don't like soccer and here is why: (First. let me say this...because I do not like soccer, I do not think less of those who do...to each his own) Both my boys played when they were 7-8 years old. Thought it would be good exercise. Neither played after one season. In their league, if a player scored a goal, he/she was not allowed to score again that game (Match?). At the end of the game, every kid who had not scored was given "Penalty" kicks until they scored -- with a coach manning the goal to ensure no blocks. Every game ended in a tie so no feelings were hurt. Soccer, at least at that level, is epitomic of socialism. "No one is better than anyone else...talent and hard work do not matter...it is not your fault your are not as fast or strong as others". In the FIFA world, soccer allows players to lie on the ground moaning and crying like their leg is about to be amputated, carried away on a stretcher, only to return moments later, after they have all this attention bestowed on them. And for crying out loud, the way they act after scoring a goal is just embarrassing. If you think NFL TD dances are over the top (and I do); how can anyone justify the wild celebrations of a soccer goal? I think Coulter is right in some aspects. Many Americans believe in giving everyone a chance but do not begrudge those who are more talented or work harder (like my son's experience in little league soccer). IMHO, soccer is the liberal answer to sports. I will say that it is nice to see many people pulling for the US...seems to bring us together every four years as it is about the only true "world sporting event". Somebody pass me an orange slice and a chocolate milk!
