jmarcum 10 Report Share Posted December 13, 2005 Last year Salem had 0 All State Players and VA HIgh had at least 4. So I figured the same thing will happen this year. TA, Salem, and Richlands will probably be lucky to combine to add the all state selections they have. If history repeats itself. I could be wrong but it happened last year. And if I am right I told ya so lol.
WHSHokies 10 Report Share Posted December 13, 2005 I agree with you 100%. that is called politics, you vote for my player and I will return the favor. The deserving players never get selected , unless your coach plays the political game. Coach Smith should be in Richmond.I saw Va High play and they could not win the Cumberland District. VHSFan999 10 Report Share Posted December 13, 2005 Who ever said Virginia High couldnt win the Cumberland district knows nothing about football. . V-High may have not beaten any Southwest district teams but they would run up the score on any Cumberland district team and I think anyone who watched them play will agree on that. As for as VHS getting more people on the all state, it may happen but I dont agree with it bein right. VHS had some really good players this past season that I know a number of teams wouold have loved to have had but Richlands should definately have more all state selections. Guest redneckman Report Share Posted December 13, 2005 Thats somthing a guy that played only 4 games got firt team all region thats awful. What next TERRY SMITH state coach of the year he only won four games that sounds about right. Something needs to be done VA HIGH won 4 games and has all these players on the all region team. What gets me is the other coaches voting for them whats up with that. I guess TERRY SMITH has the pull like that just because he is related to MIKE SMITH. I mean come on coaches dont be scared of him hell he has been in about 5 different programs in 7 years so he cant be that good of a coach. I am just saying for for the best not by the coach. GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted December 13, 2005 [ QUOTE ] Richlands 11 All-Region picks VA High 11 All-Region Picks    [/ QUOTE ]  You would think that with all these "great" players that V-High would have won more than four games...must be the coaching... olewave 44 Report Share Posted December 13, 2005 the sad thing about it, half of those players from vhigh would have not made all district in the swd, thus they would have not been all region.

oldskool 10 Report Share Posted December 14, 2005 I want to be the first to congratulate these guys on being named to the All SWD team and the Region IV team. You guys should realize that the coaches think that much about you to place you at the top of their lists as individuals among your peers. Take pride in knowing that for at least 1 year you were the best at your position. I want to especially congratulate Robert Henry on becoming SWD and Region IV offensive POY because I know first hand that he worked hard in the summer and to come back from the year that he had last year battling with a shoulder injury and not a very productive year he showed what he had. He also listened this year when I told him he was sticking his stiff arm out to early and people were just grabbing his arm and tackling him. HAHA This year though his was pounding people with the stiff arm and watching film to improve. Good luck to all the seniors. I hope that if you want to play at the next level that you get the chance. and for you underclassmen, get in the gym and prepare for another good year next year and try to make these lists again.
