Yeah with turf coming the games played between Bluefield,Graham, and Mount View should be alot more exciting to watch with all the speed the 3 teams have. Cordero High on turf could really cause some problems for either team if he's able to get out of the backfield.

A member of the coaching staff just confirmed that this is true, that the turf will be installed before the grid-o-rama in August! Everything, including the design, has been finalized. This is great news for the City of Bluefield and the football programs at Bluefield and Graham!

we wont have that much speed this year i wish we could have had it last year. to see what we really could have done

[/ QUOTE ]brown and carper would have been tough on it, prolly would have done better than 7-5 with 18 seniors if they had turf

Is it going to be prograss or fieldturf?

both are about the same

When Parkersburg put in Fieldturf last summer it took the company 2 weeks from start to finish, but we already had the under surface needed from our old Astroturf surface.

They start at the 50 and work toward one endzone, then go the other way. The only thing on the field is the green carpet and the white lines for the 50, 45, 40, etc.

They then go and cut out the area for the numbers, hashes, endzone, and midfield logos.

They then seam in the numbers, hashes and logos.

It took longer to do the seams than it did to lay the entire 120 yards of the field.

After eveything is in place, they will then dump about 200,000 pounds of rubber pellets on the field.

During a game you can often see these pellets flying up when someone is tackled.
