OU81 10 Report Share Posted June 30, 2007 not much progress on the field from last weekend but there are more ppl working. last saturday there were two today there were ten working. they are building a berm that will be the boundary of the turf. the field will be more square shaped where it was oval before. this will open up more spectator space at both concessions and in front of the stands. the field will take up some of the existing walkway in front of the locker rooms and the corners of the stands at the scoreboard end. i tried to capture this in the pictures. the field will end just behind the goal posts. so alot of the area behind the goal posts that were grass before will now be pavement. more pictures next saturday. http://www.flickr.com/photos/9247716@N06/sets/72157600569300495

FOOTBALLMAN 10 Report Share Posted June 30, 2007 they need to get someone to repaint the seats from the looks of the the pic...but this time they need to put a primer down first that way it will stay longer and also rust will not pop back through especially if the use some killz
buzzsawBeaver 12 Report Share Posted June 30, 2007 they should sandbalst the seats and redo them, or put in new aluminum bleachers eventually. That's will be odd with it not being oval.

[/ QUOTE ] Ummm...when's the last time you were actually in the Stadium??? They put new aluminum bleacher seats in when they did the last renovation...the maroon seats you see are aluminum, they just need a paint job... buzzsawBeaver 12 Report Share Posted July 1, 2007 I wasn't certain, but just whatever they have to do to make them look newer again, I also agree the locker rooms could be made bigger and in my opinion they should have someone landscape the northern end of the stadium. bluefieldRocks 14 Report Share Posted July 1, 2007 When i got the information about the turf. They were also talking bout building a dressing room for the refs down on the far end near the scoreboard and concession stand.

buzzsawBeaver 12 Report Share Posted July 3, 2007 I agree but, ? is how to build bigger dressing rooms, perhaps thats reason for moving the refs and any other non players to a different dressing room, if they had the full space of the buidlings the dressing rooms are in perhaps it would make a big difference. They'd have to make a place to sell tickets to.

buzzsawBeaver 12 Report Share Posted July 3, 2007 I'd be very surprised if bluefield ever has the title games, or anywhere else for that matter, short of rotating the games. Although they might bid for the games, the big thing for me is that bluefield has field turf to play on. Anything else is gravy.

[/ QUOTE ] Well, if you did your job better, you wouldn't have to worry about "fan interaction"...LOL...with some of the officiating I've seen at Mitchell Stadium, they should make the officials walk through the grandstands, without security, to get to their locker room...then you would see some REAL "fan interaction"...LOL.... 1inStripes 935 Report Share Posted July 6, 2007 It seems that way already GMan. Theres nothing like calling a game that Graham wins by 40 and still being told "your cheating our boys" as you pass through the Graham fan. It doesn't bother me anyway. I am normally fairly happy with my side of things.

[/ QUOTE ] That's weird...I've never seen anybody happy with doing a crappy job...odds are, if you didn't throw a flag every play, or at least called it the same BOTH ways, you probably wouldn't get those types of comments. Regardless of what you think or say, there are NO high school officials in this area that don't have some bias towards or against certain schools...LOL... mv91 259 Report Share Posted July 6, 2007 Who cares if it is 60 to 0 or 40 to 0. The only time us fans should even have a complaint is IF it affects the outcome of the game (W or L). Needless to say, that has probably happened a few times to alot of schools.
