wvuraiders 10 Report Share Posted September 30, 2007 Wow loss at home to two loss team not ranked and fell only to 7th and they are not the best team in Florida this year unbelievable as long as you have idiots like Herbstreit voting in polls the best two teams will never play in National Title..They would have to lose 4 games not to make it in! i agree with where wvu is at in 12th by the way...Rest of the poll looked respectable. GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted September 30, 2007 Kentucky and South Florida in the Top 10 are over rated at this point in the season, in my opinion. Kentucky will end up with four losses in the SEC. South Florida, looking at their schedule, could lose one, maybe two games before all is said and done. However, if they do win out they deserve to be a Top 5 team. Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted September 30, 2007 I saw Kentucky mentioned in a prior post. I reasoned in a previous post myself that they would probably be 8-4, 4-4 this season. That ranking of 8th is a glass house, at this moment. South Florida plays Florida Atlantic next. The only question in this game is whether to set the betting line at 20.5 or 21.5. Also, I saw it stated in a previous post that South Florida will probably lose two games. Looking at their schedule, I'm really not so sure... October 6, at Florida Atlantic October 13, UCF October 18, at No. 21 Rutgers October 27, at Connecticut November 3, No. 20 Cincinnati November 10, at Syracuse November 17, Louisville November 24, at Pittsburgh Florida Atlantic, Syracuse, and Pittsburgh are almost definite wins. UCF and Louisville are near locks, but games you can't overlook. That's 9-0. The three games remaining are: at Rutgers. This is the one that will be the hardest to deal with for South Florida, since it's on the road. Rutgers should be recovered from the Maryland game by then, but if Rutgers loses another couple, that could be mighty interesting. at Connecticut. This team has played absolutely nobody, and will not do so until they play Virginia. Lest you all think I'm being a homer, their schedule contains historical powerhouses such as Akron, Duke, Temple (a 22-17 game?!?!), Pittsburgh, and I-AA Maine. Honestly, I think South Florida romps in this one, but you can never underestimate an undefeated team. Cincinnati. This team has recently rose to the national spotlight on the heels of an undefeated start. Again, they suffer from Connecticut syndrome, having played Southeast Missouri State (I-AA), Oregon State (down year), Miami-Ohio (one of the 10 worst teams in I-A), Marshall (can't say much there), and San Diego State University. They have a test this upcoming week in Rutgers, then have Louisville and Pittsburgh before playing South Florida. This game will most likely be under the lights in Tampa, and you always have to wonder about a team playing its first "statement" game in quite some time. I think South Florida can take it. Where do the losses come from, guys? I honestly don't see it. Ladies and gentlemen, your undefeated Big East champions!

Guest JJBrickface Report Share Posted October 1, 2007 UCF is no guarantee win. They have a good team this year. They played Texas really tough and have blown out some other team. USF will probably win but its not a lock.
JamesL_CcLB34 10 Report Share Posted October 1, 2007 [ QUOTE ] Ohio State being ranked 4th is a joke. [/ QUOTE ] why is that... they have the number 2 defense in the country and offense is looking good and will only be getting better.. they haven't played too many tough games yet i know.. but they played a washington team who almost beat usc last night and ohio state beat them 33-14...also i think the big ten is stronger than ppl think, illinios just beat penn state last night, wisconsin almost lost to iowa last week and those two teams were ranked 8 and 9.. if ohio state runs the table this year they deserve to be ranked that high.. now usc and lsu they will be in the national championship unless one of them lose which is where the bcs is awful bcuz they are the two best teams in the nation and i wanna see them play... but ohio state deserves to be 3 or 4 and go to a bcs bowl if they win out

Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted October 1, 2007 You are right, Central Florida did play Texas close, losing 35-32. However, it's easier to name the teams that haven't played Texas close than the ones who have. Texas beat mighty I-AA Arkansas State 21-13. Texas had that 7th-place ranking based on reputation alone, and that house of cards folded this weekend when Kansas State tore them up. So, I wouldn't put much faith in that. The team they blew out was a 1-3 Conference USA Memphis squad, who actually lost 35-31 to the same Arkansas State squad I mentioned above. Their only win was against I-AA Jacksonville State. So, again, I put little faith in that. I see nothing in Central Florida that would keep them within 17 of South Florida. Therefore, I see it as a near lock. As with most things, it's debatable. fieldgeneral 10 Report Share Posted October 1, 2007 i can't grasp where the fairness of the pollsters is at. UF loses to an unranked 2 loss team at home in Swamp and only falls 3 spots. What the hell. I admit WVU played awful, but for us to lose to an undefeated top 20 team and fall 7 doesn't seem right. WVU gets no respect if they don't stay undefeated. The moment something goes wrong......"they shouldn't be ranked." It utter cow pie!
