zack 10 Report Share Posted December 1, 2007 great game. 35 -35 with just over a minute to go amherst scores but misses extra point salem gets into amherst territory with plenty of time but throws interception. amherst had great team speed and salem rarely stopped them.but salem was rarely stopped and amherst had a couple of turnovers which were key no body got a big lead amherst ran to outside or cutback on runs. peter rose for amherst had about 250 yards rushing.clemo and hudson for salem had about 275-300 yards rushing. probably the key play in game, with salem ahead 21-20, they stopped amherst and amherst snapper put the ball over head of punter but a amherst runner picked up and ran about 80 yards to almost score. they later scored and had 2 point conversion to go up 28-20. it was then 28-28 and 35-35 until the last moments of game.salems offensive line was rarely stopped by amherst as they opened up huge holes for salem on off tackle plays. CougarFan 10 Report Share Posted December 2, 2007 I'm very surprised that Salem gave up 48 points but even more surprised that they scored 35. They only scored 38 and rushed for less than 300 yards combined in two games against my Cougars. And we did very little offensively to keep their offense off the field.
