GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted October 10, 2008 gasoline futures...$1.88. This "free-fall" in oil prices is going to bolster the economy soon as the "average Joe" will not be spending all of his money on gas...he'll have a little extra to spend elsewhere. If the oil free-fall continues, retailers are going to have a great Christmas season... A word for those that still have 20+ years left in the workforce before they can "retire"...the market has almost bottomed...things are tough right now but its a good time to get some great deals on stocks you couldn't afford two weeks ago...don't think short term, look to the future...the market will rise again as it always has and those stocks you buy as bargains today will be your nest-egg for tomorrow... I still love me a worldwide economic meltdown...

Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted October 16, 2008 $2.65 in central PA. FINALLY, the price of oil coming down. The only good thing about this financial situation: when the stocks drop, speculation drops, too.
hokie07 11 Report Share Posted October 16, 2008 The only good thing about this financial situation: when the stocks drop, speculation drops, too. As G-Man said a few days ago, cheaper gas is relative to speculation of a very stimulating holiday season, in an attempt to boost the economy. Which, of course, all depends on if people can keep their jobs to make money!
