Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted September 26, 2009 Bluefield is going to give someone a heart attack with that cannon! Of course, we unfortunately heard it alot against my G-Men. A nice touch, it just shocks the heck out of you when it goes off. Even the bluefield fans screamed when it went off. Or choke people to death; ask those of us sitting in the press-box area during the Graham game. At one point in the 3rd quarter of the Beaver/Graham game apparently some of the debris from the cannon was blown into the stands. My eyes and throat started burning and I began coughing uncontrollably. Each time I tried to take a breath my throat burned intensely and I would cough again. There were at least 50-75 people experiencing the exact same thing, it was a little scary as it lasted for a good five minutes or more. I originally thought it was pepper spray, but I didn't see a fight in the area, any commotion, or police in our area. Plus, the guy behind us said he used to work with cannons and that it was debris from the cannon causing the problem. They must have used a ton of the stuff. Once thing is certain, that stuff is VERY effective...lol Amazing how dumb rumors get started. Yes, there was a fight, and Rocks, Hokie, BeaverBaseball will all tell you this is true. Rocks has it on tape. Second, they used pepper spray and massive amounts of it. Once again, none of the above was involved in the fight, but we know the parties involved and they talked extensively about the amount of pain they were in. Lastly, I have seen the cannon fired multiple times and from all directions. Nothing comes out, nothing to smell but blackpowder. If you would like a demonstration PM me and ill set one up. the_general 13 Report Share Posted September 26, 2009 I was on the sidelines that night and i remember that feild goal like it was yesterday did not have the guts to go for it i think it was about 2 inches for the first down and they kicked the feild goal just to say they got some points it was 05 though because we remember 06 don't we tazewell 69-0 2005, I think you might just be correct.
