more right wing BS...nothing new...the guy has been in office now for all of 9 months and has taken on a lot of hard problems head on and not to mention he walked in to a mess from day 1...and I'm not a Democrat but after watching the way the Republicans are carrying on it will take a very strong candidate before I could vote for one again....I think if they put the energy in to actually doing something productive that they do in worrying about bad mouthing Obama's every move, we might get something done...negativity will bite you in the ass in the end...at some point people will get sick of hearing it.

If the Republicans were half smart they would kick Palin to the curb and get behind someone fresh and new...start being a positive group and work from the inside out...start doing productive things for the country and find someone you can put a face on the actions with and push that person...Palin is not that person...and whoever is pulling the strings on the wacko conspiracy theory stuff needs to refocus on the positive side of things...the best thing the Republicans could do is let Obama do his thing for the first three years then pick apart the mistakes in an election year....the full court press for four years is going to fail....wait and see.

I am not going to get into some huge political discussion, but how about the mall in Johnson City, TN that evicted a vendor there who makes bumper stickers, t-shirts, whatever you like. He was making anit-Obama stickers and they kicked him out. Here is the thing, he makes anti-Bush ones as well but they didn't care about that. Double standards?? Of course there are. Sounds like some super far LEFT liberals trying to flex some authority. And yes, I am a republican FYI.

Why is it that each time someone complains about Obama they are automatically a right wing Republican nut job?

Ever stopped to think that maybe, just maybe the person who put up the billboard is a Democrat who just happens to be sick and tired of the Progressive Liberals hijacking their party?

I know several Democrats who adamantly argue that Obama and the current Dems in Washington are not representing their true sentiments.

The people in this country, both Dems and Repubs are starting to recognize just how out of touch progressive liberals are with society. They are speaking up and the tide is about to change in America. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the Republicans in this country need to stop and take a look at their party as well, some Dems are starting to complain about their party.this is good. I just hope that the Republicans will also start to notice the faults within their own sphere.

The problem with the entire movement isn't that it consists of Republicans , the problem is the Republican Party is trying to hijack the movement, by joining in on the complaining and ridicule. True there are a bunch of Republicans who are complaining because the president is a Democrat, they don't want to fix the problem, they just want their side in control. The real patriots are those who are calling out BOTH PARTIES!

I do not believe for one minute that the answer to this huge screw up called OBAMA is a Republican congress or a Republican President. Until we get rid of the corruption in Washington, on the state level and at the local level, we will never get our country back.

The solution to our current problems in America will require die hard Democrats and Republicans to come together with independents and DEMAND accountability and transparency in Govt.

As long as folks tow the party line, this country will never rebound!

The argument isn't about Dems vs Republicans its about CROOKS!

sad part is that we live in a two party world and until a legit contender emerges from a 3rd party we will get more of the same from either side.

My point was just that the billboard looks like the same old republican right wing wacko BS to me...i dont care who put it up...even if Obama put it up, it still looks like that same old BS to me.

The rest of what i said was just what i think about the Republicans at this point...and unless the core of the Republican party can do something to distance themselves from the right wing, they are going to suffer for it later...mark my words.

Actually it's not right wing extremism at all. There's nothing American about socialism or a lot of the policies this administration has been pushing. Big government in control of most everything and as a provider of everything for it's people is a communist form of government. But we've debated this more than a few times.

Don't blame crazy right wing extremists when it was the president himself who has said many times and campaigned on the intentions of bringing a fundamental change to American way of life. The only thing that's really surprising are that some people are surprised at any of this.

As for republicans being negative it's simple, these policies have to be opposed.

There's tenfold more negativity from the democratic politicians blaming American people for stalling their ideas and protesting and such when in fact it's simply them not listening to what the people want. They just don't seem to know anymore that they're there to do the will of the people, not be in charge of them, and if there's anything that will turn on someone it's the ongoing accusations that everyone who opposes the president must be racist in someway and that everything is still bush's fault.

As for republicans putting their efforts into doing something positive not certain they could possibly do, politically they have the numbers against them in ever way in washington, they can't actively do anything, they can only oppose what they are against.

palin doesn't have anything to do with this, I haven't even heard anything about her for a while.

"WH aide: Fox News operates like an arm of the GOP

Posted: October 12th, 2009 04:55 AM ET

From CNN Associate Producer Martina Stewart

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Far from backing away from its recent slam at 24-hours cable news outlet Fox News, the White House is stepping up its criticism of the cable news network.

“The reality of it is that Fox often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party,†White House Communications Director Anita Dunn said in an interview that aired Sunday on CNN’s “Reliable Sources.â€

Dunn said that Obama had recently chosen not to appear on Fox because of the administration’s belief that Fox is ideologically predisposed against Obama and his agenda.

But Dunn pointed out that during his presidential campaign and since being elected, Obama has been interviewed by Fox News, and will be again in the future.

“He’ll go on Fox because he engages with ideological opponents,†Dunn told CNN’s Howard Kurtz. “He has done that before and he’ll do it again.â€

But Dunn was quick to add that the White House does not consider an interview with Fox comparable to interviews with other media outlets.

“When he goes on Fox, he understands that he’s not really going on it as a news network, at this point. He’s going to debate the opposition. And that’s fine. He never minds doing that."

“They’re widely viewed as a part of the Republican Party – take [the GOP’s] talking points, put’em on the air, take [the GOP’s] opposition research, put’em on the air.†Dunn also told Kurtz.

“But let’s not pretend that they’re a news network the way CNN is,†the White House communications director added.

In a written statement given to CNN, Fox News said its programming was comparable to the editorial page of a newspaper.

“An increasing number of viewers are relying on Fox News for both news and opinion,†Fox News Senior VP Michael Clemente said in the statement, “and the average news consumer can certainly distinguish between the A-section of the newspaper and the editorial page, which is what our programming represents.

“So with all due respect to anyone who might still be confused about the difference between news reporting and vibrant opinion, my suggestion would be to talk about the stories and the facts rather than the attack the messenger . . . which over time has never worked.â€

In an interview with Time Magazine released late last week, Dunn said Fox News was “opinion journalism masquerading as news.â€

"They are boosting their audience. But that doesn't mean we are going to sit back," also told the magazine.

Socialism is deserving of a 24 hour hatchet job. Socialism is what's going on in america, foxnews is simply addressing that.

Obama could give a small boy a kidney to live and fox news would talk about how bad an idea it was to put himself in that situation. Rush Limbaugh could go on a shooting spree and they would label it as counter terrorism.

Not so, conservatives simply aren't for liberal or socialists policies anymore than liberals would be for conservative policies. The u.s. has a very liberal administration, you know this yourself. I know you don't think they're middle ground in any way, they aren't. Don't expect conservatives to be supporters of it, it's simple.

Since we're doing satire, I should write that the u.s. could go to war and cnn and the other non foxnews networks would proclaim daily that our troops can't win and were losing.....

But of course that wouldn't be satire though would it

She is dead on. Ive seen CNN and MSNBC both call out the President, and call things out when it was fair to do so. Fox is just doing a 24 hour hatchet job.

She is entirely wrong. That article about FoxNews is written by CNN. Two problems there.

1. CNN is a direct competitor against FoxNews. Competing for the same demographic.

2. CNN has a liberal bias, while FoxNews has a slight conservative bias.

Hello, AGENDA?!?!?!

That article isn't worth the bandwidth it takes up...

Of course my comments were stretching it a bit....but sometimes I wonder if that's true. I know that most if not all media outlets are biased one way or the other. It's sad you can't get a straight report out there today. I know there are some, but it's a shame that many of the big outlets that are present on tv, internet, radio and so forth have their own political agenda and will spin stories to fit. Fox News is just as bad if not worse than any out there. I know, I know there are others including CNN. Fox News just seems like they want sling crap as hard and as far as they can even when it's pointless.

It's pretty sad the division this country faces today. At one point and time our government had support from it's people , trust from it's people, and hope from it's people. There is nothing wrong with freedom of speech, but it's a damn shame that we've gotten so divided. Here's Hoping that something happens to bring us all together!

But realistically it's simply not going to happen without bloodshed and a lot of death, eventually, could be 20 some years, could be 2, but that's the only thing that's going to change the country and it will eventually happen. Bad situations simply don't reverse themselves.

Going back and forth even in terms of 4 or 8 years is still only buying time, like a gas leak that's saturating the air, eventually a spark will ignite it.

A quote in the article says "When he goes on Fox, he understands that he’s not really going on it as a news network, at this point. He’s going to debate the opposition. And that’s fine. He never minds doing that."

I think that there are two things to notice with this comment. The White House is implying that Fox news is the OPPOSITION aka the enemy. It will not be long before they are labeled as the enemy.

#2 If Fox news is the enemy or opposition then those that watch the network are also the enemy or opposition. This thugocracy that we call the White House is basically labeling anyone that differs with them as the opposition.

#3 What if, Fox news WAS a branch of the Republican Party? Does that make it evil? Does that make it wrong? Since when is it un-american to have a different view or opinion on how to fix things?

We are missing the big picture in these statements. The current regime that is ruling our country, are openly identifying those with dissenting views as the opposition and portraying them as the enemy of the state! This is unprecedented in American Politics, true NIxon asked everyone that worked for him to stop buying the Washington Post, but he did not label the post as OPPOSITION aka enemy.

The mindset of modern progressives goes something like this......Total Government is the goal, and dissenting views need to be portrayed as mobs, hate-mongers, racist and right wing nut jobs. By doing so, the burden of credibility is then placed on those that are labled and not on those doing the labeling. This in turn, distracts from the honest questions and keeps the hatemongers, right wing nut jobs and mobs on the defensive and does not allow them the time needed to expose the corruption and agneda of the ruling authority. This is a tactic that many progressives have used in the past, it is taught in Saul Alinsky's book RULES FOR RADICALS.

I feel like I am living in the novel 1984..........
