Someone who attends/attended Graham...Graham = "G" = "G-Men" Its also a play on the "Government Man", known as a "G-Man", from the 20's and 30's.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-Man_%28slang%29 The G-Star on the helmet, which was first used when Coach Carlock came to Graham, is derived from a Government Agent's badge with the "G" over top of it. Many, many years ago a veteran sports writer for the Bluefield Daily Telegraph named Stubby Currence was quoted in an article as saying that the Graham football team "always got their man." That quote "kind of stuck" and also applied as reference to the FBI and J Edgar Hoover being known as the "Government men." Thus the moniker G-Men was applied to the sports teams from Graham. On the other hand, our female sports teams could not be labeled as the G-Men; therefore, the moniker G-Girls was applied to the girls athletic teams.
