We have people discussing rivalry games they look forward to watching this season. We have threads about worst places to watch a game and the best. What about teams between whom we wouldn't mind seeing matchups? Union vs. Graham Union vs. Bluefield Union vs. Giles. Gate City vs. Giles Gate City vs. Graham (I know the two teams used to play but I would like to see the rivalry renew). Wouldn't mind a yearly series between Richlands and Giles, myself.

Union/Abingdon - this is the first year of this matchup. And it's probably only because Abingdon is now in the district. Gate City/Marion - glad this one is back it. I guess it has always made too much sense to play Marion. 2017 will be the first time these 2 have met since 2000! Gate City/Graham - it may happen if Akers sticks around at GC with his connections at Graham. I wouldn't mind it.

Different rules in each commonwealth. VHSL lists out of state schools by the classification that they would be as if they were a Virginia school.

" (5) Richlands. I'm just putting Ernie Hicks here just to piss people off. I really don't think Ernie Hicks is that bad, especially since the mountain running down the center of the field has been leveled, but it's my list and I say Richlands is 5th worst. Prove me wrong. :) " This is one Blues fan you wont piss off about it. I love Ernie because of the history and atmosphere, and it is home, but it does need some work and updating...........especially the bathrooms and the visitor side seating. I doubt there is much can be done for the seating because of the road behind it, but a couple of port-a-potties would help and a concession stand of some sort.............and maybe a speaker or 2 would help also. I sat over there a couple of years ago with my wife during one of the Richlands vs honaker games and got a whole new perspective on a game at Ernie. It's great on the home side, but not so much on the visitor side. Of course that can be said about 90% of the high school stadiums I've been too !

Everyone is over hyping Graham. They got a good WR and RB, a decent QB. They will be weaker on D this year. Lost a good athlete to Bluefield. They will be good, but will not make it out of region D. Whoever is clicking better between Union and Richlands will represent our Region. Richlands will be better on D this year, but the offense is still a mystery. Probably more of a running game this year. Union has the best player in the state, a solid QB and always a running game. With a good Defense. Gate City will surprise many people also. Hope I'm right anyways.

Y'all must marry young in Wise County. ;)

It's still there and even louder. Just hope they get to blow it this year.
