Grundy wins! One more game to make state! 

Can my alma mater win the whole thing? I feel pretty confident they’ll get to the regional finals against Eastside. I have no idea what the rest of the state has?

I’m so hopeful they can make it far, the opportunity to showcase more of our athletes and people to the state is paramount. Could we become the first school to win a 1A wrestling and boys basketball title in same season?

I sure hope the name and mascot is inclusive of all the residents of the county. 
 

Breaks my heart to see these schools close. 

Went to the game, Central played well. Sadly, Tabernacle is a shell of its former self. I think they lost 3/4 of their team to the hurricane. Kudos to the Arby's for still inviting them and having them, I'm sure the school can use all the help it can get.

What purpose is served by this? You boys are from the same county. Create bonds to form friendships don’t build walls to create barriers.

I hope he stays. Hard to believe at some point with his talent they wouldn't figure out a way to win a district or a regional title.

Lot of rumors over my way that he's thinking about going to another school next year. Any truth to those rumblings?

I keep reading about local Republicans wanting safe spaces for guns? Evidently Lee County even passed that? What is the world coming to?

Sir, this is repulsive. I couldn’t be more disappointed in you, this cartoon and your posting of it on a family message board. How does this promote harmony? You, someone I consider a friend has violated the trust of this community. 

This is degrading and I expect you to issue a complete and full apology. We would not stand for this type of behavior when I was in school. This younger generation proves it has no respect for others or themselves.

I love Toby Keith and Montgomery Gentry. They sing about our great nation and rural way of life. We could use more of that at our games and less vulgar music that is poisoning the youthful mind!

This type of dialect will not further peaceful relations. Clearly, children have been hurt, why further hateful relationships. A peace offering should be made to forge a relationship that brings forth enduring peace and harmony!

It's the half way point of the season and they are only five points ahead of Graham who has two losses. Not a good sign an 8-2 Central team would not outpoint an 8-2 Graham or an 8-2 Tazewell team leaving them fifth and that's a direct result of a weak schedule.

Looks like Wise Central's problem is their schedule. They may have the weakest non district schedule of any AA school in the state.

Good luck to Bluefield the rest of the way. They played hard and classy. Too bad the refs from their association are 💩 and that makes this series need to end just like it did in 2003.

We’re tying mighty hard but this Davis kid is just too fast for Richlands. No reason to be disrespectful.

Bernie Sanders is right about a lot.

Seems like this would fall right in line. We need a way to bring other people to our end of the state to show everything we have to offer.

Many communities who are in a decline because of the economic strain from the past 20 years and are still struggling to stay afloat economically

This, so we can say you can now afford to travel 6 hours across the state to watch a 3 hour sporting event

 

 

Precisely! We must invest in our youth and communities! They are our future. I’m a big proponent of high tax and high service, we’d all come out better in the long run.

If the state or local government could supplement the travel through increasing taxes everything would be solved. Nothing was ever hurt by the government giving out money!

Taxes need to be raised plain and simple. It’s past time we pay teachers appropriately and redistribute wealth by providing more opportunities for our students!
