  1. Yep. Arcadia is about 15-20 miles even more north of Nandua. Lol.
  2. Trust me jarhead, if there EVER comes a day when Union EVER has to make a trip to Nandua or Arcadia... you will be begging that it was Clarke County instead. Google Maps lists it at roughly 5.5 hours from Union to Clarke County. Google Maps lists it at 8.25 hours to Nandua and 8.5 to Arcadia.
  3. You'll have to forgive jarhead's plethora of emotions Observer, between all this yelling about flags and whining of possibly having to travel far for a Union game again this year, I think he's just in dysfunctional disarray at the moment.
  4. Is there ANY chance at all this game gets postponed to Saturday with the rain coming in tomorrow? I've noticed these Hogoheegee teams don't hesitate whatsoever to postpone games so they don't have to play on a muddy field. If it gets moved to Saturday afternoon, I most likely won't make it. Saturday night, I could make it. But hoping it doesn't get postponed at all.
  5. Are you talking about when John Battle played Essex? If so, Essex fans are far from intimidating. Those people were some of the nicest fans I've ever met when Haysi played them a couple of years ago.
  6. No wonder J. I. Burton beat them so bad. The entire school plays on the team...
  7. I'll be there... but this is more of a home game for me than an actual Ridgeview home game as I live in Bristol now. Lol. Last week, they actually threw the ball a LOT more than run. They threw for over 300 yards last week. Normally we're a running team though. I would like to see more of what I saw last week.
  8. This is the stuff that gets to me each year... people whining about having to travel. Get over it. Make the trip, wherever it may be or stay home and listen to it on the radio. It could be worse... one of these days, maybe you'll wind up going to Nandua or Arcadia over on Chincoteague island.
  9. I imagine that IF Hurley makes it to the final four then Richlands would be the closest suitable stadium or Graham. Although, I don't know if Bluefield is closer than Richlands or not from Hurley cutting through West Virginia roads.
  10. Yeah... but what I was getting at was it seems as if everyone is assuming Hurley would meet GW/Galax earlier in the playoffs. I don't think that's very likely at this point. Fort Chiswell seems to be the sleeper team. Possibly Parry McCluer as well. Regardless, I think anyone from the West will have their hands full with Riverheads once the inevitable occurs.
  11. To be fair... isn't it likely that Hurley could potentially avoid GW/Galax until the title game in Salem? I'm thinking the scenario if Hurley finishes 1 and GW/Galax are 2 & 3. Who is likely to get 4th? PH, Chilhowie, Fort Chiswell?
  12. There's just something about this bozo that really annoys me.... ^^^^
  13. 65% chance of rain last check for Friday night... I was getting ready to say, come on now, just wuss out like these Hogoheegee teams and postpone it till Saturday and then I remembered that Marion is a Hogoheegee team as well. Lol.
  14. Wasn't there a guy from Radford that went to Bucknell a couple of years ago?
  15. Well? The Hokies play Thursday night this week, so no game for you to go to Saturday anyway... Abingdon should just move it to Saturday and get $6 more gate money from me. Lol.
  16. Guess I will be in Marion with you Friday night but sitting on the opposite side. Lol. Haven't been to a football game at Marion yet, so I can mark that one off my list. Wished Richlands and Abingdon would just move the game to Saturday. :D
  17. +1 and that offense just doesn't work at the 2A level. I think the coaching staff finally realized that since the offense drastically changed for the better Friday night. Good game by your boy the other night. Heard his name mentioned over the PA quite a bit. Always a good thing. :)
  18. It will probably be tomorrow before I compile mine. Had my little girl this weekend and went to Carowinds.
  19. Central fans on Twitter from experience like to talk a LOT of smack and start stuff. Personally I love it when they get shut up or need some Kleenex to wipe away their tears.
  20. The dumb decision to go for it on 4th down in your own territory with a 7-3 lead against Lee High with about a minute to go in the half did it for me, plus the stupid jet sweep every freaking play when it averages about -3 yards a play did it for me. I think about 90% of the Ridgeview fan base INCLUDING Clintwood people agree at this point. Like I said, though, Friday night was a step in the right direction. Over 300 yards through the air... looked promising actually. Let's see if the trend continues against Marion this week.
  21. Um... no. I will say that he switched up the offense some last night and had a lot more passing involved, but way too many freaking penalties. Clintwood never fared well against the 2A teams... I think in their state championship season a few years back, they went to Grayson County and got waxed.
  22. If you read the fine print in the paper, they get the stats posted each week from the coaches.
