  1. They ain't out yet. Lol. They get Virginia High most likely in the Region, who they've already beat in regular season at the UVa-Wise tournament, which would get them to the semifinals against Union again where they will 99.5% be done. That will be the farthest they've ever advanced, so that should be considered an accomplishment in my book.
  2. So, the Mountain 7 seeds should be all set with 1. Union, 2. Gate City, 3. Ridgeview, 4. John Battle I believe Abingdon is a 3 seed in Region 3D if I recall.
  3. Yes. BHC only covers three Tennessee teams: Tennessee High, West Ridge and Sullivan East. East was terrible this past season, so that's why they didn't have anyone on the team.
  4. No they didn't... Fletcher Gibson plays for West Ridge and signed with Carson-Newman. Justin Hilton is West Ridge's coach.
  5. I thought so too... Kick Returner is not really considered offense.
  6. Four teams advance from both the SWD and Mountain 7. Not just two. Regular season champ from both districts gets 1 seeds. Tournament champ or runner up if regular season champ wins tournament also gets 2 seed, winner of consolation 3 and loser of consolation 4. edit: since Abingdon is in the boys M7 semifinals, the fourth team from the Mountain 7 will be the highest seed that didn't make the semifinals, so in this case that will be Battle. So, John Battle at Graham should already be set as a Region 2D tournament game.
  7. I hear lots of wonderful stories about this superintendent... 😄
  8. I hope you're right. They have to win region first, and then get through one of Bearden, Farragut or Oak Ridge in the sectional to get to Murfreesboro.
  9. D-B beats Gate City Saturday night 82-30. Gate City was held to 5 second half points. They can't do anything with coach Poore's full court press. I am surprised no more teams in the M7 don't utilize it against Gate City.
  10. Richlands maybe? Can't remember if that game that was supposed to be Phillips' last that got postponed was ever made up or not...
  11. In Virginia, they have a one game playoff for the regular season title for all districts at a neutral site. Mainly because in Virginia, a regular season title gets you an automatic bid to the region tournament in most cases. That's the one thing about Virginia that is better as compared to Tennessee. For instance, the Big 5 girls tonight will end in a 3 way tie for first if Science Hill beats Dobyns-Bennett. They've already determined how the seeds will go for the district tournament if that indeed occurs. Should be a playoff if no head to heads break tiebreakers. My guess is, if Virginia High and Graham do indeed wind up tied, then they will play each other on Saturday or Monday in a one game playoff at either Richlands or Marion.
  12. D-B is one of the three best teams east of Knoxville along with Greeneville and Morristown East. They played their best game of the season Friday night though. They're a threat for Murfreesboro. Problem is Section 1-4A has five superb teams in D-B, East, Oak Ridge, Farragut and Bearden. Only two of those can go to Murfreesboro. I would have Union locked to at least the semifinal. I think they can beat the C team they host on their floor whether that be James River, Radford, Floyd or whoever.
  13. I felt sorry for Union having to go into Topper Nation the night after they got absolutely embarrassed by D-B. We were up by 40+ in that game at one point. Cutlip was not a happy camper Friday night, I figured he'd take it out on Union. Glad the Bears made it respectable though.
  14. It's not just Virginia... there were at least three T's called in the Arby's for it. All three were ridiculously bad calls too against non-local teams.
  15. You can typically find the Mountain 7 and the Cumberland in the Kingsport Times on a daily basis. If I see them in today's paper, I will post them here. Tim Hayes posted the Hogoheegee on Twitter the other day, but that was before Friday's games.
  16. Huge win for the Pack! I believe this is their first ever win over Gate City as well! Girls also beat Gate City tonight as well and take over first in the Mountain 7.
  17. James River, Radford, Union...... doesn't matter. Whoever makes it from the West, John Marshall beats them by 30+.
  18. He indeed did sign with them yesterday.
  19. Lebanon isn't even the best team in the Hogoheegee at the moment. That would be Northwood who is 6-0 in the district and 10-4 overall. edit: Northwood beat Lebanon last night actually. 74-72 in OT.
  20. I only have two predictions for this year... 1. @cityofRaven will get a lucrative endorsement deal from Happy Socks. There's no one better at endorsing game day socks, that's for sure. 2. @EH31 will still not pay his debt by providing each and every member of the board with a Frosty for an epic failed wager from a few years back. That's all I got.
  21. Congratulations to coach Phillips on the new job and wish him the absolute best. I've had the chance to talk with him a few times at ballgames over the last couple of years and coach Phillips is a super nice guy.
  22. Does the girl from Haysi still coach the G-girls @Gridiron60? As for the SWD girls race, I would put Marion at 1 and Richlands at 2. Richlands would probably have to face one of the big three in the M7 in Region D quarterfinals (Wise Central, Gate City, Ridgeview). I just don't see Richlands beating any of those three.
  23. Nobody really legitimately thought Ridgeview was going to win the district man... I thought their ceiling was third. But, I doubt they'll even get that now. They're probably fourth best team in the district. I thought they were pretty even with Gate City, but after last night, it's clear Gate City is better than the Pack.
  24. A lot of local papers in the area reference the MaxPreps poll when talking about the top public high schools in the country... I have never liked MaxPreps, so surely this site has to be better than them.
