Ridgeview girls played absolutely terrible, Steve Honaker's crew are the zebras tonight which led to the girls barely surviving John Battle 42-39.

No.... that's the worst moment ever. Now all the sports suck except for girls basketball and I don't have any friends at games anymore to talk to. :(

Wow... I missed some entertaining conversation on the board over the last two days when GMan accidentally brought the hammer down on the web developer of swvasports. Good times! Anyways, anyone who says Gate City don't have a crowd wasn't in Viking Hall when they took the lead against Wings in the 4th quarter. That place was going NUTS!

I don't know anything about John Battle this season except that they lost three good scorers from last year. I did notice though in the Mountain District preview in the Herald Courier, that the coaches picked us to finish ahead of John Battle, which was a little eye catching. I could see Battle winning tonight, with the Pack taking the rematch at the Den later this year. Union and GC cowtromp Lee and Central respectively.

Yeah, I ranted on Twitter after UVa-Wise blew what at the time would have been a monumental upset over #2 Concord (Concord went to the D2 title game that season if I recall correctly) a couple of years ago that I would never go to a Wise game again unless he was fired, because it was his idiocy that lost them that game. Then I ranted continuously the following year... then finally they got the message at the end of that season from many observers and gave him the boot. He's pathetic.

Confirmed. Game is postponed. Makeup date next Thursday the 12th.

The ONLY thing going for Ridgeview tonight is the 4 hour bus ride to Floyd tomorrow morning for the Devils, starters won't NEED to play much. That being said.... That sounds like a dumb way to handle things. I really don't like how the CMC handles the whole Lebanon thing either, while every team only plays Lebanon once during the season, they count it as two wins or losses. The whole district/conference thing is stupid. If Lebanon is in the CMC, and the conference is what eventually advances you to regional play, then they should have to play those teams twice, not the other southwest district teams twice.

Gate City could beat every other team in the district, including Union by at least 20... they're just that good man.

Well, they've only won 5. Council, Castlewood X 3 and Lebanon. Lebanon was the only one I wasn't expecting. I really can't say because I have only seen them twice. They won both times I saw them, but needed a LOT of improvement in order to compete within the conference. Missed way too many shots in close. The Yates kid is a really good shooter. Gabe Counts gets most of the scoring, but truly believe Jacob Yates is the better player.

Wasn't it Lebanon and Union a couple of years ago who played to a ridiculously low final score? Something like 20-18 or something?

I was given the idea of several of the people I talked to at Arby's that GC would be playing the bench a lot against us on Friday due to the fact that they do have a 3-4 hour bus ride to Floyd the next morning. I hope that's the case. Otherwise it's hard to tell what the final margin would be Friday night.

Not sure who else you have this week besides us and Floyd, but pretty sure you guys could beat us with the backups. Lol
