Thanks. I actually don't have far to travel. I work on Valley Street. :)
Even though I am from Dickenson County originally, I live in Bristol now.

Look forward to attending this game tonight. It's nice to finally see and root for a good team after suffering through the Ridgeview season that was.
-
Lol! Fair enough. However I have used that as well and I think last year it picked Union to beat Eastside 98-0. :D
-
The thing I remember most about that Pound/Haysi game was that Pound built a HUGE lead in that game. Then through the PA, we kept hearing that JJ Kelly was up on Powell Valley, so me and my buddy thought Pound was going to win in a runaway, so we hopped in the car and drove to Wise to catch the second half of JJ Kelly finishing off the upset over Powell Valley. We came back through Pound, saw there were still all kinds of cars in the parking lot, and thought to ourselves... "What?! This game isn't over yet?!" So we stopped back by, caught the last two minutes of regulation and the overtime of Haysi's comeback win. Pretty fun night.
-
Union's season will be over if not next week, then in two weeks for sure. It will be hard enough to get past Dan River at their place, there's literally 0% chance they'll beat Appomattox.
Graham's road is slightly easier, but not by much. Possible second round game with Martinsville and then the likely third round game with Richlands.
-
Yep, they actually lost to Haysi that year in OT.
-
I never ever got to make the trip to Pocahontas. Next time I am over toward Bluefield, I think I will make a trip down that way just to check it out.
-
He'll never come back, but he would do wonders with Ridgeview I think. I'd just take about anyone over Rick Mullins at this point.
-
I remember the Gate City horn coming to Haysi back in the early 2000's. Dickenson County sherriff's ejected them from the field. Didn't stop them though, they just went across the Russell Fork to the convenience store parking lot, still within eyesight of the field and blared it from over there. Lol.

That was a long trip I'm sure. Why did we play them anyway? If I remember right, they didn't come to Haysi the following year. It was a one and done thing.
-
Lol... I remember that. I wonder how many people from Haysi actually made that trip? I didn't go.
-
Looks like I was spot on except that I failed to realize Cave Spring and Alleghany tied on points and Alleghany actually got the 16 seed instead of Cave Spring.
-
I'm just looking forward to finally seeing a little 3A Virginia ball in person. Can't wait!
-
When Twin Springs sees GW's entrance, they hop back on the buses petrified and head back to Scott County with a forfeit.
-
Yeah, and Castlewood's MaxPreps football schedule page is probably the WORST one out there. The majority of their games are listed twice. Made figuring up their power points this year a 'b' word.
-
I'm guessing Patrick Henry is in deep jeopardy with the loss of Humphrey. Haven't looked like the same team since. I could see a Narrows upset of Burton.
-
I haven't been to Burton in quite some time, but when I did go there, I always parked on the street directly behind the school, which is Kentucky Avenue.
-
Get used to it. Probably going to be that way for the forseeable future. Only thing changing next year is no long road trips through the first three rounds for anyone.
-
It's exit 98. Take route 100 across the mountain to Pearisburg, then make a right on Business 460. School is on the left. If the school parking lot is full, I think the Walmart will let you use their lot.
