Ive said 2 large 1a schools in Lee county evenly distributed would solve a lot of problems and also shift the political dynamic. Thomas walker has supported it and in fact some sports have survived because of jonesville kids. This most recent school board has been amazing to Thomas walker and the lower end, probably the best in my lifetime. But they are still years of neglect that needs overcome and if you are following the drama unfolding you can see the discontent and continuous questioning of spending money on that end of the county. Citing St Charles, keokee, and Blackwater had to close why not district one.

Cumberland gap Jfwa ( tuition is waved a lot of times or given at a major discount) Claiborne high Hancock Middlesboro And even Bell county pending on your location. The discontent with Lee and twhs has been bred in for years. Ive erased several long paragraphs but will say Lee high is like Notre Dame. If Lee high is playing someone we are always fans of the other team. Lee high has reciprocated this by never spending a single penny more at twhs than the absolute necessity nor praising any team's success at board meetings like they do for lee high. Up until recent years, The county decision makers have always treated politics as if they is only one school in Lee county. If twhs has it, its due to our small community affording it, which is why we are extremely sensitive to responses about our facilities. We have done more with less than any other locality in the state, I can assure you of that.

I would say you would bleed off 100 kids and most athletes would go to the gap. Nothing good could come of this. 3 high schools closer to Rose hill/Ewing communities than Lee high.

Hazard is an enigma their success is rooted in transfer from Perry Co, Leslie Co, Breathitt Co, and Letcher Co. In the past they have had a slew but since Perry poached their coach. Since then the pipelines are not flowing to hazard but 2 miles down the road to Perry.

I assume the reason for the voting being so skewed away from one district is solely due to the timing of the All region meeting. Historically, In 1d it has been on Semi finals night before the games have completed. if it is the same for 2D, that might shed some light as to why the votes do not favor the winning district.

Region D Girls Basketball Top 10 Wise Abingdon Honaker Ridgeview Eastside Union Burton Rural Retreat Virginia High Rye Cove M7 is the M7. SWD is down Hogo has two teams BDD has 3/4 of a Team. Cumberland has 4 of the Top 7 teams in Region D 1a. Based off Scrimmages and scores. Unless Chilhowie and Marion were missing players neither would come close to any team on this list. Virginia High is my only question mark, they could be off the list or as high as 6th, just going off scores.

A team in 2015 that fired Wayne mills for actually mooning someone. They then hired a fall guy in 2016. In 2017 Dudley was brought back in. THanks to some classification changes; 3a no longer has Corbin or Boyle Co, he has guided Bell county deep in the playoffs each year while going through Belfry. Pretty impressive

They have had 2a numbers for the past 10 years this is not shocking they are competitive in the 2a playoffs. It's extremely sad they petitioned to play down.

All sports. Softball was ducked by all m7 teams 2 years ago, before RC received our pitcher. Lee High has dodged every occasion they might lose, 2017-2022. Boys basketball has been and still is a benefit game. Union dropped Girls basketball after being approached several time. However, Football on the other hand, No one is responding due to power points.

Lol scheduling for all sports is terrible. Heard a coach call all the hogo and bdd teams just to get the traditional we will see to never get called back. If there is a m7 team we can play they also dodge us. It really is difficult to fill any schedule without relying on ky and tn team.

0-4 on the surface looks bad but the 4 teams they have lost two are no slouch. Clay Co beat Harlan Co who is on the same level with Middlesboro. Rockcastle Co is really good this year and looks to challenge Bell Co in 3A east. If I had money on this game, It would be on Pineville @Pineville. Pineville looks to be a 3-7, 4-6, 5-5 team. Wins for sure are Harlan and Lynn camp. Lee, Leslie, and Williamsburg are on the fence

I disagree with the exposure, AAU is all the exposure she needs. Its about better competition on a night by night basis and she does not get that at Richlands. SWD is currently a soft district that would be hard pressed to win the Cumberland let alone beat a M7 team.
