  1. I’m perfectly fine with little league and many places have flag football not tackle. I think Wythe County is flag football or at least used to be. In our area, though we go all in and I don’t think kids as young as 5 need to wear full gear and tackle. I’m no professional on the topic but it just doesn’t seem like a good idea as far as physicality of such small bodies wearing pads, helmets, etc. Someone more knowledgeable might speak to the topic.
  2. Ricky is a top notch guy and a 100% improvement in administration for Richlands. Ronnie Davis a welcome addition to Graham High School as AD & teacher. It’s good when you have some coaches in the school system that interact with kids in school setting IMO.
  3. Until Middle School , kids should be playing flag football. Number one, young kids don’t need to be wearing full gear & tackling, etc. Number two, too many little league coaches don’t teach proper technique then coaches in middle & high school have to try and correct it. That’s no easy feat sometimes. All this just my humble opinion.
  4. I heard coach would be hired in June.
  5. Don’t mind me, I’m just here for the comments. 😉
  6. Been true thus far...hope GMen can change that this year.
  7. Didn’t Rhoads apply for Richlands HC ?
  8. Lucky is the team that ONLY has one. 😂
  9. I didn’t realize anyone used those statements of fact as excuses. 1. Graham was quarantined for two weeks prior to the game. JV two days longer than varsity. They had one day of legit practice. 2. They did have two starters out and lost another during the game due to his jaw getting broken. 3. Apparently, some players did attend a party the night before the game. (Stupid, selfish teenagers -that’s an opinion by the way), lol. Those are facts! Do I think the outcome would have been different if those facts were changed? Who knows? It does no good to speculate the “ifs”. It won’t change the outcome. The final fact, Union played a great game and deseved the win. Graham played awful.GMen stunk up the field all the way down to that last 11 seconds. No excuses, Union came to play. Graham was not prepared to play and that was evident. Congratulations to the Bears on a remarkable run though.
  10. I personally don’t recall a lot of Graham people complaining or making excuses when Graham lost to Union. I actually congratulated Union on a well played game. I believe you’re over generalizing fan bases. Congratulations on a good ride!
  11. Is there a place for customer options or something similar? I think that’s where I had to go in maybe.
  12. Have you tried logging out & logging back in? I had to do that.
  13. Well, funeral feeling may depend on the final score 😂 but yeah, let’s hope not a funeral for Region D.
  14. The part I listened to they gave Turner credit & Union credit for playing well. Wished Bears luck etc. They mentioned turnovers & said you can’t turn it over X number of times in playoffs and win which in essence is true whether it’s between Union & Central or some other two teams.
  15. Wouldn’t he be close to retirement age? He’s been in Bland County for quite awhile. I’m not sure he’d come back Tazewell Co. to work at Richlands.
  16. Haha...I don’t any former coach that would come under the current administration. Ain’t anyone with half a brain want to deal with that.
  17. https://thecinemaholic.com/janina-jefferson-murder/ Sad & heartbreaking, I didn’t realize the Lomax kid belonged fo her. Hope this show helps find the scum and justice is served.
  18. I thought Mance liked SC. 😂
  19. Seriously, how many current assistants have applied? I heard at least two. What are chances a current assistant gets it?
  20. I never considered Union the underdog against Graham personally. With Graham quarantined and the loss of two starters, I thought it would be close and even stated that many times on here prior to the game, Graham would have had to play their best to win given the circumstances they were dealt. GMen definitely didn’t play anywhere near their best while Union did. Had Graham had the benefit of playimg their last regular season game, practiced as normal, and had complete roster, then yes, I would have considered Union the underdog possibly. Maybe Union will surprise the Appo folks though and those saying Appo by a lot. Union is Union!
  21. Not sure it had anything to do with parents not wanting kids to play due to Covid, I think a couple were academically ineligible and we graduated 11 Seniors. Maybe a couple just didn’t want to play. I think normally we’re about mid40s.
  22. Y’all got good numbers! Our numbers were down a bit. Graham loses 4 Seniors, Fritz will be hardest to replace. That boy was a workhorse. Graham only had 16 solely varsity I think maybe 36ish with JV added in...we need a few more bodies. We didn’t have enough to run live plays that Wednesday & Thursday before Union game when varsity came out of quarantine. They had to line up across from trashcans until JV was out of quarantine on the Friday before the game. Trashcans are good for trash but not getting prepared for a playoff game. Hopefully, numbers are up next year for everyone.
  23. Don’t think Lomax will make it st least one score?
  24. We know they have the best dang train horn around but does Union have a prayer of winning this game? I for one would love to see Region D reign supreme but can Union do it?
