I heard Ric Flair decided to lead the Bears into the park riding the fire truck and instead of the band playing at halftime, they’ll be a ring set up on the 50 yard line & with Flair and Michigan coach as guest refs , all the Richlands applicants will wrestle, single elimination , winner takes the reins at the Big R. Wooooooo! But wait, can anyone verify they actually have applicants?

If we’re being completely honest Tazewell had Union against the wall until those interceptions. I mean if we’re talking cheating, intercepting on the 1 yard line when the other team is threatening to score. That’s just plain wrong. Graham should be getting a free spin here after the regular season game with Union. Anytime , GMen are on the 1 yard line, Union should just escort us into end zone for the TD. It’s the least they can do since we’re their guests. Hospitality means a lot especially in the south. Seriously, Graham will need to play flawless to win and defense be quick, wrap up & hit hard stop Chandler, Anderson, & Huff. No trickery with the Bostic kid throwing TDs to Anderson either 😂. That’s cheating 😂.

I think Glenvar gets 20% of the home seating. If the state semis are there, whether it be Union or Graham, I propose region D fans show up early and commandeer at least 60% of the seating 😂😂😂. It’s kind of ridiculous really! What kind of atmosphere is that when the visiting team cannot even have their fans behind them cheering them on? The semi-final in 2018 was moved from Radford to Salem due to field conditions, no visitor seating seems a valid reason to move it once again.

Have you listened to the latest ATW Episode? They threw out some names for coaches & possibly assistants. If I recall their top two picks were Ronnie Davis with maybe a possibility of Snake leaving Graham to help him (I don’t see that) & Shane Wicks (if Honaker goes on to win state, are you leaving that team to be head coach of a 0-10 team, I don’t see that either)?I think they mentioned coaches from Eastside, Twin Springs, and a few more.

I’m thinking application deadline is November 30th, they’ll hire at the December board meeting most likely. We’ll have from January until 7 on 7s in June to offer our advice to the new coach! After 7 on 7s, we can prognosticate how we think the Blues season will shake out after our first glance at the coaching ensemble and players. I feel like we could drag it out for at least 10 months minimum! I have unshakable faith in this board to out do ourselves!

Graham should mix up their offense a little as some have eluded. Try some new things, stop being so predictable (coming from someone who has never coached a day in his life), lol. I also wonder if the X factor for Graham will even be Clements ? You have to bet Union is defense planning around him. There’s a couple others that could make some big plays too! I think Edwards has had a heck of a season. Jennings can make plays and Floyd plays hard every snap he’s in the game. Other players that could be difference makers Graham, Lilly, & Hale. The Fix kid has had some good moments too. The Gate City game the QB was okay but he had to contend with cold & pouring rain. He’s got a strong arm. I hope he has the game of the season Saturday but OLine has to do their job. They had several come out against Gate City and a couple never returned. They may be down another starter or two Saturday in addition to the several already out. . Young guys on OL are going to have to show up and show off to have a chance to beat a solid Union team. With all that said, I give Union the edge and Graham slight underdog. I hope GMen pull the upset but if not I’ll be cheering Union on in the state semis against Radford. (I’d be shocked if it was Glenvar).

Most kids are not mentally tough anymore and a lot are lazy! Every team has a few of them including the GMen. It most certainly starts at home & is often hard to overcome on the field. Great coaches can help compensate and overcome this mindset.
