Apparently your assignment last night was go watch a game on your own. Cause nobody wanted you in any positioning. Hey, we got that in common. Nobody wanted me to officiate any games last night either, so I just went and watched one. I doubt you've ever been a high school official, maybe rec league at most. But , you play one on the keyboard.

Looks like a pretty vague rule change. A Coach can tell his QB, if you bobble a snap or have a busted play where the running back goes the wrong way and there's no one there when you turn to make the hand-off, just spike the ball. If he gets a grounding call, Coach could just argue it's in the rule change. He can spike out of shotgun.

Some people equate lots of flags thrown as poor officiating. I've always been of the opinion, you see a foul, throw the flag. There was one play last night, that I think might of been a missed call. You correct me if I'm wrong. On GW last drive of the first half, their QB spiked the ball to stop the clock, out if a shotgun snap. I'm pretty sure sure Q B has to be under center to spoke. Officials blew the whistles when he did it. I say that's a fumble.

Giles had to pull all 14 Sophomores up to have enough to field a competitive team. Most of the defensive secondary and linebackers are sophomores. Yeah, they're going to get burned and be out of position a lot, but they're also going to learn. Some really good athletes in that sophomore class. Need to get some beef up front though.

Heard a coach on the radio a few years back, answer a question about preparing to play Giles and the single wing. He said it used to be more difficult, because the ball was snapped to the backfield and it would be the only time all year you would see that. But now, with teams running spread and more formations out of shotgun, it's not so unusual.

Is Bland fielding a team? If not, I don't think GW-Wytheville, and Galax replaced Bland on their schedules last year. Both just played 9 games. Don't know if the dates work out, but one of those might be a possibility if Bland doesn't have a season. Also, if Bland doesn't compete, they have Auburn scheduled on 10-16. Auburn would probably take that game. I know, a lot of ifs
