  1. Marion isn't playing all that bad from where they were a year ago but Graham is still good enough up front that they'll score almost at will. You never know though, Marion needs it but not as bad as Graham does right now. They stumble now and take a chance of an early rematch in the playoff's with a team or two they might not want to see until late. Graham hasn't shown the usual improvements we're accustomed to seeing from them from game 1-5 and clicking on all cylinders by November. The way it looks right now, Graham, Union, Ridgeview, and Gate City are gonna be in some order of 1-4. I hope it works out for the best 2 to meet in the Regional Title game and not the Semi's. Graham 42-Marion-21
  2. Abingdon, not a terrible team that played like arse vs a not terrible battle and played better vs a not-terrible Gate City. C-burg nor Tenn-High was in any danger of losing to Abingdon. They'll still be a tough out for the rest of the District. Up front, they're still decent but they've lost too many athletes the past couple of years that were borderline generational at rb and wr along with some impressive line play. Abingdon 35-13 over Central
  3. Lol 11 seconds that lasts forever, crazy play. Kinda like the first score by fritz, then this season with the fumble recovery for td. Seems like one of 2 every time they meet.
  4. Appo winning a few more games and maybe losing to LB bringing them to 3 losses wasn't crazy harmful to the pairings but missing that game and averaging 9 games instead of 10 would've been a better scenario. Losing 4 and only playing 9 will not help the effort. Their remaining games aren't a given so who knows what kind of seed they'll end up with. However it ends, Glenvar and Radford won't meet until the finals if that's the case.
  5. Grundy will not have the athletes to match up, even if Tazewell isn't performing at it's best. But then again, if Grundy plays physical keep-away and can score, they could pull it off. They'll need it if they're thinking about pairings in November.
  6. They'll be in the playoffs, just not in the spot they've been accustomed to. Either way, they gotta play Glenvar or Radford and if they win it'll be both. Tough task this season as they appear down from usual but they'll still bring it and be a tough out.
  7. Battle is up and down so much it's hard to say who's going to show up. Lebanon D is suspect as much as Battle offense is inconsistent. Last possession wins kind of game. 38-35 could go either way
  8. Probably should be a great match-up depending on if everyone is healthy on both sides. Lee coming off a bad loss from Ridgeview and cove clicking on all cylinders after a drubbing of a not so good Castlewood. Rye Cove isn't great at any one spot but they do a lot good fundamentally at every spot. They play hard. 35-28 either way
  9. Looked like he took about 3 quick steps but it was so fast I couldn't tell if he ever pulled it in.
  10. What goes on the field Friday usually reflects what happened from December to August! There are no magic formulas but there are recipes that must be mixed appropriately. They won't be down forever. They have to figure a way to grow what they've got and not worry about who leaves. Easier said than done, but there are still people and resources that haven't been found out utilized yet. Good luck blues, stay the course.
  11. Long way from the finish line for anyone right now. Strange things happen game to game. That being said, Graham and RV are down not out. Whoever makes it is going to have to beat someone twice or catch someone else who's gotten hot late. Several are always gonna benefit pp because of weak schedules just to host a playoff game, but it's gonna come out in the wash. Good luck, but keep things in perspective. A lot of teams have not been district Champs but managed to win a state title. Until they start mailing the trophy ahead of time, play it one game at a time.
  12. TS will come at them at least as hard, if not harder than the recent scott county matchup. Respectable 1A program.
  13. According to stats and news, qb lit up pineville last week. No idea what they saw in Kentucky, not on nfhs or streamed. Ridgeview probably gonna be a better test, but they kinda on the struggle bus last week too trying to figure things out vs VHS, only decent test thus far. RV 38 LEE 12
  14. sister station, to be aired on television, it's usually pretty neat with replays and all. check online wcyb and get info where to tune in.
  15. Dodging maybe, but other than taking a hit in PP, no other reason. If they were potentially winning 7-8 games a year then maybe it works out but that ain't happening consistently. Like to see them upset a RC or TS, but that's a tough nut to crack currently.
  16. I don't think Gate City depth, or anyone else in the region, compares to that of Science Hill. The best 11 for both will be playing during crunch time, early or late. Watched both of last year's games just trying to compare who's back for each team from last season. I think it'll be the better of QB head to head battles in the M7. These 2 mirror each other a lot. It'll be a tough contest none-the-less. Good luck to both, WCYB televised right?
  17. No Garden? Want a dragon shirt lol
  18. Secrets out, trying to make a run to Salem! All hands on deck, fresh bodies on every special team and having a little depth on varsity.
  19. Radford always has talent, but discipline seems to be a constant struggle as well.
  20. Good, people that work will have a few more minutes before getting in gear to go to the game.
  21. Bristol used to post district stat leaders, don't anymore I guess.
  22. 1C is going to be a tight race no doubt. Glad to see a few games mixing it up with some 1D and 2D teams.
