I was half serious about "all of them", but every 2A school is somewhat vulnerable unless something significant impacts their community. Hard Rock is a great example and will definitely bring in younger workers with school age children.

This post is not intended to discuss recruiting practices by any school. A successful program is the best recruiter. If a school can have a good run with homegrown talent and win a state title, parents/players from neighboring schools will want to be a part of it. Once Richlands began its run in 2004 and won State in 2006, the talent began rolling in for the next decade. Graham and Tazewell had no chance to compete, as they were losing kids to the Blues (Lockhart, Gray, Booker...) Mance's retirement coincided with an insane amount of talent at Graham starting around 2016 and, of course, led a state title in 2018. And once again, parents/players from neighboring schools...

You are OG if you remember that. LOL The SWD teams went through an absolute gauntlet every season. Graham, Tazewell, Richlands, Grundy, Gate City, VA High, John Battle, Abingdon, PH, and Marion were the 10 throughout the '70s. Lebanon become the 11th in the early '80s when it moved up from Single A, and the Pioneers have continued to bounce between classifications and districts ever since then.

2004-2016: It is getting ridiculous that the SWD can't produce a team to challenge Richlands. 2017-Present: It is getting ridiculous that the SWD can't produce a team to challenge Graham.

Is this an exaggeration or are you just unfamiliar with Lebanon greats such as Aaron Fuller and Nathan McGlothlin?

I’ll say both Chilhowie and Marion are pretty good. Marion had more yards and first downs than Chilhowie last week, but 15 penalties and 3 turnovers doomed any chances for a win.

I can't recall when three WV teams were ranked the same week.

I'm afraid this is just the start. Many stadiums in our area have concrete grandstands, particularly ones constructed from the 1930s through the late '70s. Most of these bleachers have reached or exceeded the typical lifespan of exterior concrete.
