  1. The uniform color will also play a factor
  2. It will come down to the bus drivers
  3. Hoping a dry field favors the dogs. Some costly turnovers inside their own territory, including a pick 6 thrown by the punter aren't helping either. Game is still within reach , but the defense will have to step up for the 2nd half on Monday.
  4. Maxpreps has both Bluefield and Graham playing at Mitchell Stadium oj Friday the 15th. Anybody know ifbeither of those teams are playing on Thursday or Saturday?
  5. Even with everybody healthy, can't count anybody out in a rivalry like this.
  6. I think the outcome of this game depends on if Creasy can play or not and if he plays, how hampered is he by his injury. I believe Creasy passed for over 400 yards against Richlands last year (somebody correct me if I'm wrong). That's a huge loss for the Dogs, if he doesn't play. I think the Dogs will have enough offense to beat Richlands, but it will be a much closer contest and I wouldn't be surprised if Richlands pulls out the win. With the plethora of quality receivers that the Dogs have, I would imagine that the backup would be working on the short passing game and timing if Creasy is out. I don't know much about the backup QB, I think the Dogs had a different backup last season. It appeared that he settled down a bit during the Riverheads game as the game went along. If he plays and the Dogs can protect him, I think he will do fine, but just not the same as if Creasy were in there. Nevertheless, If I were the Dogs, I would do what I could to get the ball into the hands of my athletes. Those athletes being Logan McDonald, Brody Patterson, Ayvree Zeigler, Reece Mullins and Brock Alley (Yes, even with the cast on). Even if you have to do end-arounds, quick Bubble Screens, Screen Passes, etc... I would also like to see them put a couple of those big linemen in the backfield like Graham did last season to lead block for Zeigler and try to spring him loose with his speed. But hey I'm just a bleacher coach (or couch maybe), just thinking out-loud. Defensively, I think they will be able to keep Richlands out of the end-zone for the most part. I think The Bulldogs will have superior line play and their athletes are fast enough on defense to contain the somewhat limited speed of Richlands. But if they can't score on offense, Richlands may sneak up on them and win this game. I still favor the Dogs to win, with or without Creasy, but it'll be tough if he is out.
  7. If Clements plays, running clock. If not, Graham wins by 21-28.
  8. I agree. He had a pretty good outing against Galax throwing the ball. Work on spreading it out and tossing it around, if you can. Jennings can get some good reps in too at RB. Graham needs to demonstrate a good passing game to keep teams from loading the box on them. If Roberts continues to have time to throw it and work on his progressions, it will make Graham even more dangerous.
  9. You have to read the post he responded to to get it....
  10. With Creasy out, I say the Dogs will win, but too close for comfort. If Creasy plays, Dogs by 21 or more. When the Dogs go to the up-tempo with Creasy at QB, their offense is hard to deal with. If he is out and their primary RB still out in Taylor, this game gets much closer.
  11. Atmosphere will be great. If Creasy plays for Tazewell, I say the Dogs win by 21 or more. If he is out, it'll be closer, but still favor the dogs.
  12. Tazewell vs Richlands in the Backyard Brawl.
  13. I agree. Wish both teams would have been at full strength. QB going down early, starting Rb out for the Dogs too. Of course , CCC out for Riverheads.
  14. He looked like he was in a lot of pain. I hope he can go next week. Different team when they can go up tempo and spread out the defense.
  15. Despite the score. I wasn't overly impressed with Riverheads. A team like Graham or Union would take them apart this year. Their offensive line has great size and I'm sure with Cook-Cash behind them, they would be a challenge. However, the defensive line is small and overall, the defense is slow. Grahams D- Line would match up physically with their offensive line and they have a lot more speed. Graham's offensive line would push Riverheads around and Graham's speed would be way too much. I think the game today would have been much closer had Creasy not been hurt and definitely closer if Taylor were able to play. I hope Creasy can return, but his health is most important. Tazewell has a lot of potential this season, but the early injury to the QB, Taylor being out and Alley playing with a cast really hampered the Dogs. Some penalties in key situations stopped a couple drives and kept a couple Riverheads drives going. Tazewell will be fine, at this level of ball. Having your 3 best players hurt or injured makes a huge difference. You can see the potential with the Dogs, however. Good things to come from them this season. Starting next week!!
  16. Creasy out with a shoulder injury after driving deep into Riverheads territory.
  17. Riverheads 7 Tazewell 0 1:13 1st
