[ QUOTE ] I dont think Amherst makes it past salem. [/ QUOTE ] Amherst Co. = WELL OILED MACHINE FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS. Salem = Defending Champs, still very good but not as good as last year. The "wild card" in this Region III, Division 4 mess is a healthy Pulaski Co. team. If they stay healthy, they could shock a few folks in the post season...
  2. Here is the way it stacks up... Weir currently has 102 points, or a rating of 11.33 through 9 games. Weir has one game left vs. Buckeye Local, OH on 10/28. If they win, they will get a total of 10 points for the victory. They will also receive 1 bonus point for defeating the winner of Oak Glen-Magnolia. They have the potential for earning another 6 bonus points for victories by defeated opponents on 10/28. They could also earn another 2 bonus points on 11/4 for victories by defeated opponents. The maximum number of points Weir can have at the end of the regular season is 121, or a 12.1 rating through 10 games. _________________ James Monroe currently has 86 points, or a rating of 10.75 through 8 games. James Monroe has two games left, at Bluefield on 10/28 and at Greenbrier East on 11/4. If they win both of those games, they will earn 14 points for Bluefield and a guaranteed 13 points for Greenbrier East. They will receive 1 bonus point for defeating the winner of the Shady Spring-Liberty Raleigh game on 10/28 and 1 bonus point for defeating the winner of the Wyoming East-Liberty Raleigh game on 11/4. They have the potential for earning another 6 bonus points for victories by defeated opponents on 10/28. They could also earn another 2 bonus points on 11/4 for victories by defeated opponents. The maximum number of points James Monroe can have at the end of the regular season is 123, or a 12.3 rating through 10 games. __________________ So, if James Monroe gets the MAXIMUM number of points it possibly can over the next two weeks, yes, they will overtake Weir for the #2 seed. HOWEVER, in my opinion it is a long shot. This is how I project things... Weir should finish with 118 points, or an 11.8 rating. James Monroe, if they win both of their final two games, should finish with 115 or 116 points, or an 11.5 or 11.6 rating. Weir would be the #2 seed. Wayne will be the #1 seed if they win out with a rating of at least 12.4.
  3. [ QUOTE ] I predict this game to be a Va high Upset [/ QUOTE ] You "predict" or you "hope"??? A Graham loss would be big for Tazewell....

  5. [ QUOTE ] Good Home Brew will get a lot of people on your side [/ QUOTE ] True that...
  6. From what I've been able to gather from VAPreps board... Babbs has not been playing due to "injury". Some say he could have been playing all along but the coach wanted to keep him out of the line-up to keep him "fresh" for the last part of the season (ie. the playoffs). I guess we will find out on or about November 18th-19th...
  7. [ QUOTE ] with all due respect since when did bluefield become a place where the refs cheat opposing teams? [/ QUOTE ] I must admit, I have seen some horrible officiating at Bluefield's games. However, it was horrible BOTH WAYS!!! The worst officiating I've ever seen, as far as "homer officiating" goes, is at James Monroe. Those "farmers" may not have enough money to pay those officials to cheat but they sure must have enough "home brew" to get the officials on their side.
  8. [ QUOTE ] I'm still hoping to attend the game but it may be up the air since I am being sued and may be required to spend the evening with my legal counsel. [/ QUOTE ] You didn't say anything bad about the Bluefield Barons did you????
  9. Just looked in the VHSL record book... Magna Vista tied the State Record for lowest team score with 588 (set/held by Western Branch in 2002 at Elizabeth Manor GC).

  11. [ QUOTE ] after tonight we will know more...if Grundy wins they are still alive...if not cross them off the list. My thoughts are that Va High will be #4 seed Richlands will be the #1 Graham will be #2 and either Grundy or Tazewell will be #3. If Grundy wins this week, the winner of the Grundy - Tazewell game next week will be in the drivers seat for #3. Tazewell will beat Marion...so...all that's left to see today is how Grundy does at CC tonight....if they win they are very much alive. [/ QUOTE ] Don't count Patrick Co. out just yet. They have four games left, two are VERY winnable and the other two they will likely pick up decent points in losing. As for Graham, I think they are a fairly solid #2 seed even if they lose the last two. However, there are a few scenarios where they could fall to #3...like Tazewell winning all of their remaining games and/or Patrick Co. winning all of their remaining games.
  12. V-High won't lose to Lee...book it...
  13. Nope, one will be on the outside looking in...Virginia High will get in automatically by winning the Highlands District...
  14. [ QUOTE ] Bluefield_Rules, you're such a loser. Yeah I'm calling you out and I don't care if you use your "administrative" powers to ban me from here. Come up to Weirton running your mouth like that to me and we'll see what's good. You can believe that. Put me on your ignore list? You scared or something? [/ QUOTE ] WeirFootball... When you come on here instigating arguments and talking trash...expect to have it thrown back your way. Making threats towards ANY poster will not be tolerated...PERIOD! You want to do that crap, I suggest you go to TSP. I'm the one who has banned you in the past, not B_R. As a matter of fact, he actually talked me into "unbanning" you! Talk trash, start an argument, or threaten someone again and you are HISTORY...THAT IS NOT A THREAT, THAT'S A PROMISE! Sincerely, The G-Man
  15. BigD4VT has outdone himself on this one!!!
  16. Correct...seedings are based on VHSL ratings only. Winning your district only gets you in the playoffs now...no other benefits.

[ QUOTE ] hmm how bout a more tactful approach - "I don't know if he will be able to pull it off- seems very tough, but i wish him luck in his venture to acheive 4000 yards...." hmm yes that is better [/ QUOTE ] Tactful??? Are you kidding??? Nothing is ever "tactful" on this message board...
  18. [ QUOTE ] I thought you were gone to Roanoke to have dinner with Ron! [/ QUOTE ] Dinner??? I wonder if he likes "crow"????
  19. SWVAFootball.com's website is temporarily 'OFF-LINE' due to the fact that we have used our allotted amount of bandwith for the month!!! Actually, we used 20% more than our allotted bandwith as I had to increase that amount over a week ago. Things should be back 'ON-LINE' tomorrow or Wednesday. Is this a bad thing? Well, yes and no. Yes, its bad because the website is down for at least a day or two. But, its a good thing since it means that the website has had a record number of hits over the last 30 days!!! This is the first time that we have ever used our allotted amouth of bandwith during a single month, not to mention the EXTRA 20% of bandwith that I added last week!!! Thank you to everyone who has visited SWVAFootball.com!!! We hope you enjoy the website!!! Don't worry though, we will be back up and running in the next day or two!!!
  20. Well, going by the "unofficial" ratings posted on TSP.com, WS currenty has 44 points. By defeating both Summers Co. and Sissonsville, you will pick up another nine points for each victory. However, you won't pick up any bonus points from either due to the fact both are winless. You could pick up bonus points from defeated teams...Gilbert (vs. Man and Mount Hope), PikeView (vs. Independence), and Wyoming East (vs. Independence and Liberty-Raleigh). If WS wins both games and gets maximum bonus points possible...they would finish with a rating of 6.7, very close to #16 in the final rankings. As a comparison, Bluefield could lose their last two games and still finish with a rating of no worse than 6.77. Honestly, at this point, its almost impossible to say for sure due to the number of games left to be played.
  21. In WV, you get 12 points for wins over AAA, 9 points for wins over AA, and 6 points for wins over A schools. Plus you get one point for every victory a defeated team has against a school in its class or higher. In Montcalm's case, they play all Class A schools and very weak ones at that. They will earn very few "bonus" points for victories by defeated opponents.
  22. [ QUOTE ] Gretna is 6-0 this year and has been 14-0 the two previous years. They were 8-1 three years ago. Barring that the one loss wasn't the last game of the season they have a 34+ game winning streak. [/ QUOTE ] 2005...7-0 2004...14-0 2003...14-0 2002...8-4 (lost to Liberty-Bedford in the Region III Finals, 41-34)
  23. Gretna is at 35 consecutive wins... Gretna...35 consecutive wins...
  24. [ QUOTE ] Oh Im not implying they changed my mind. I know we need a change and the time is now. I do feel Mr. Steele is the only one that gives a darn about these kids and the archived minutes support this. He has made more motions to get things done then the rest combined. [/ QUOTE ] The only reason Steele does that is to kiss the A$$e$ of the other board members so they don't close his school (Pocahontas)...he is the WORST of the bunch!!!
