Yeahp I called it. What a shame too. It should be obvious to everyone in the state of Virginia that Salem, Richlands, Liberty Bedford, etc... all the 8 plus win teams in the regular season that these should be your teams that dominate the All State voting. My regrets go out to all the kids that played their heart out but there were no room for you on the all state or region team. But until something changes VA High will continue to pull this with 4 win season. Id hate to see what would happen if they won 7 games. They might have two all state players at every position from 1st team all the way through honorable mention.

Last year Salem had 0 All State Players and VA HIgh had at least 4. So I figured the same thing will happen this year. TA, Salem, and Richlands will probably be lucky to combine to add the all state selections they have. If history repeats itself. I could be wrong but it happened last year. And if I am right I told ya so lol.

Va High will have more All State selections than the state champions. I guarantee.

Ah man I dont know anything about it. At this point he just wants a walk on invite,or something, from anywhere. First one to offer him he will more than likely go there. He just wants to play like anyone else. I know what your saying about the stats will be awful but everyone at those games saw the same thing we did. I dont care who you are, there arent too many people that can run with 3 people all over them. In the third and fourth he just started dragging people for five yards at a time. And thats impressive for someone 175 pounds. He is extremely powerful in his legs. But that college stuff. We dont know. All we can do is pray for something good to work out for him.

Shooo I wish they would quit playing cotton eyed joe. Grundy already gets a bad rap. That doesnt help. lol.

I learned a lot about Garon last night. This was my first game seeing him this year. He took a beating and never gave up. From what I was told the beating he took last week was of unreal proportions and he never gave up. Everyone that was at the game saw that no matter where he went, the defense shifted. The entire line and the linebackers. So when he got the ball he was staring at at least 3 defenders, everytime. In the second half he just got contact and drug defenders with him. I hope the line gives him some blocks the rest of the season because I didnt see any holes last night. But good job Garon. Your one tough cookie. Lol.

Good Game Bluefield. I hope you guys win the rest of your contests. Your a good team and everyone was a class act. I havent seen a good game of that nature in Grundy in 4 years. It was exciting. Like I said, Good luck and I wish you the best the rest of the season.

Garon is 2 tds away from 50 for a career and 50 yards from Grundys all time leading rusher. So if he isnt as good as Ringstaff was, how many tds did he have for a carrer? Yards?YPC.I can only tell ya right off that last season garons stats were better than Rinstaffs on 40 less carries at the end of the regular season and Ringstaff was first team all state and SWD player of the year, Garon was honorable mention. SO go figure.But put up the stats here and you can compare Garon and him after the season. If Ringstaff had more than he did he better. Plain and simple. Bradshaw. Yeah everyone knows he is one of the best ever. NO suprise. His stats show it. Garon sick??? Lol. I talked to him last night I didnt hear one sniffle. Lance, are you using tactics? lol. They know if Garon didnt miss for a broken hand he wont for the sniffles. But good try lol.

Lol I was just sitting here thinking to myself when I read the post. "what does it matter how he gets them", does it make him less of a player if he breaks 3 20 yard runs or a 50. lol. I am sure nobody will complain if thats how their rb gets his yards. lol. I know I wouldnt lol.

Grundy has a very young team. I can only think of about 4 senior that see playing time so winning this game will be very tough. Garon needs running lanes and the defense needs to wrap up. Its hard to change that much in a few weeks. Maybe they have, but if they pull this one out against Richlands its gonna take a complete team effort and a great game plan.

Well Bluefield can have their shot to do it next weekend.

Hey Lance, I should know this but right off how many 200+ yard games has he had and when he did how soon was he out of the game after he was in that range? 200 yard games i can remember: 10th grade: Marion, Fieldsdale Collinsville and for those who dont know who that is they were full of speedsters and track stars. I know he had at least another one maybe DMan or Lance knows. 11th grade: Shelby Valley, Richlands 175 so he was close on that one, Marion on 14 carries, Paintsville, Carroll County and maybe Tazwell I am not for sure. Id say around 10 for his career. 1 this year. Last year he had 8 straight 100 yards game, starting week 2. I do believe he scored a touchdown in every single game except the playoff game. Heres numbers that show you what he has done also: 9th grade average yard per carry 6.5 10th 8.6 11th 9.8 and so far at 10 10.0 so two carries gives you a first down with him. Pretty good. But I hope we see what he can do with 200 carries this season or more. He isnt off to a great amount of carries, 27 or something. Maybe he will get more as the schedule gets tougher.

Grundy is the underdog everyone knows it. NO suprise there. They got beat by Clintwood if that tells you anything. Grundy is stocked full of 9th and 10th graders playing big roles in their first year. Everyone knows it. I dont see Grundy players saying anything. Which is good. THey know they have no reason to talk or boast. Richlands has the team to beat and looks like Graham is up also. Grundy is just feeling their way right now. But no matter what football is football and I wish I could see the game. Good luck to both teams but Grundy these storm warnings and redneck nation things are getting cliche. Lol. I just want to see Grundys young players wrap up and Garon get the rock and show up better than Gate City, and Honaker did, but I think it will take Grundy at least 4 more games to start to Gel , but in the SWD that may be too late,but I hope not. LOL. Looks to me like in Pic 4 the kid got knocked down and as they ran his way he just grabbed that big guys leg and was hoping to hold him up so someone could come tackle him. Its obvious he isnt aiming his helmet at the knee on a running go because he is laying on the ground. Not much damage you can do from laying on your butt to someones knee. Good pics though.

Ah it was a dumb post. Grundy has no room to talk, Richlands has owned them for 8 years or something like that, and they got beat by Richlands last week. So obviously thats past players talking. You wont hear any players talking this year. They know they are to be humble. They are very young and inexperienced and going up against a great team.

Grundy was 8-2 when crigger was a senior. Our two losses that season were to Matewan and Iaegar, both WV teams.The next season we were 10-0 and if i do believe beat Richlands in the post season as well. So its been a long time. I didnt even know the streak was that long until last season.
