  1. Graham,s starting QB and center was out in the 2nd Bluefield game as well as the first Richlands game and both were major contributors

    Graham

The big game is 5 months away and it's already started...
  3. the other is about 6'2 also and is probably going to be a reciever, yet another target for Cole
  4. after watching the replay over and over on ESPN, he looked at Duke's player then kicked him. it was deliberate. I'm finding it harder to pull for VT with these "incidents".

    SWD 2006-2007

probably the game of the year, Richlands returns a lot and Graham only loses 5 starters with a QB that may be great
  6. next years featured back has tremdous speed, maybe the fastest in the region, and i know somebody will doubt this, but wait and see
  7. i agree, if you are not used to the turf. it is a big adjustment and if teams only practice on it once or twice it can be a big disadvantage.I recall a very good Graham team, when Bradshaw was a freshman, that was totally out of sync because of lack of practice on turf. The speed, footing, and timing is different. Maybe the VHSL should look into a grass field, but their too busy screwing everything else up. Congrats to Richlands, Giles, Salem, and J.I. Burton [all below Roanoke where football is supposed to be weak]
  8. Way to go! Now go get the STATE!!!!!!!!
  9. one hell of a game, Graham showed a lot of heart as well as Richlands Good Luck Richlands on the way to the state. As Arnold says "we'll be back!
  10. if graham can score early, i really like their chances. the defense plays more aggressive. Henry will be a load to stop, he's elevated his game GRAHAM 21 - RICHLANDS 14
  11. both teams played flat in the first half, then graham took over, the defense was great and totally shut down anything tazewell threw at them. Tazewell had hardly any offense what so ever. Graham offense was powered by Henry, who ran over everyone in his way, usually taking 2 or more defenders to bring him down. an awesome performance by him. I seriously question starting Workmam over the Coles at QB, he has been out for several weeks and it showed, also Graham's offensive line did a great job. So I guess the excuses are going to start coming from Tazewell as why Graham won the game. Bring them on because there are NONE.... Looking forward to a great game at Richlands
  12. and Graham, Tazewell, and Grundy [i think] should be single A
  13. it's a shame that teams in the SWD have to eliminate each other from the playoffs. I'm a Graham fan but I want all area teams to do well, seems the VHSL could break us up a little, it would be great to see 2 SWD teams in the state semi's, but the VHSL, I guess, doesnt see it that way. Graham, Tazewell, and Richlands would eliminate a lot of teams if they were allowed to do it
  14. I think this game will be a good one, a lot of emotion on both teams, But Graham has improved every game after the loss to their QB in mid-season and appears to peaking at the right time. Tight game until the half then Graham takes over by 2 TDs.
  15. I dont recall any rule about the way a center has to snap a ball, when the ball is coming off the ground both teams start their play. I dont know why this is such a big deal anyway, it didnt make a difference in the outcome only the score Too many excuses, Tazewell played well and Graham won. END OF STORY
  16. dont overshadow the great game tazewell played by making excuses, there are always excuses, be proud of they way they played as we are the way Graham played.
  17. as I recall somebody else said Graham, Grundy and Tazewell were evenly matched. GRAHAM 41-Grundy 0. If you guys are evenly matched with Grundy expect a long night. I know you guys will bring it, looking forward to a GREAT game. Glad Graham has nearly all their starters back.
  18. bristol herald courier Graham vs Grundy
  19. Graham's defense was TOTALLY dominant, Grundy could not do anything Graham was in the backfield play after play. Graham had way too much speed for Grundy and the much hyped Marcum could barely make it to the line of scrimmage. Graham's offense could do no wrong it seemed. Freshman QB Cole threw a td on the very first play of scrimmage. He's is going to be something special. Henry had a great game as well as Carper and Brown. Graham's offense line also dominated Grundy and blew good holes for Graham's backs and give the QB plenty of time to throw. Good to have most everybody back and healed up,and it showed, Carper with his cast removed, Robinson back at center and the nagging injuries to others. Thought Grundy would give a better game

    SWD

Richlands is defenitly the best in the SWD, but how many other SWD teams will make the playoffs? To early to tell?
  21. Tazewell has Graham at Bluefield, should be a tough game but i believe this one will go to Graham
